Who You'll Work With
You will be part of McKinsey's Social, Healthcare and Public Entities (SHaPE) practice based in Boston or Dallas. As a member of Capabilities & Insights team with a focus on Healthcare Private Equity, you will be part of our global Client Capabilities Network(CCN) delivering distinctive client impact through assets and expertise driven by a culture of innovation. In this role, you will have opportunities for high levels of interaction with consultants and the rest of the knowledge team. You will be the primary point of contact between many consultant teams and our global SHaPE (Social, Healthcare and Public Entities) team.
The SHaPE practice is one of 10 industry practices within the firm and has a mission of measurably improving individuals' lives, livelihoods and health, creating safer and more just communities around the world. SHaPE serves governments, donors, healthcare payors/providers and non- governmental organizations on topics including health, public finance, education, defense, economic development and beyond.
McKinsey's Social, Healthcare and Public Entities practice fosters innovation driven by advanced analytics, user experience design thinking, predictive forecasting and new product development. Your impact within our firm
You will leverage a solid understanding of business trends, issues, and concepts to efficiently respond to complex research questions by delivering synthesized, actionable facts and insights to our consulting teams and clients.
In this role, you will work alongside senior knowledge professionals on larger client projects and internal knowledge initiatives. By collecting and analyzing data and information found in databases and/or other primary and secondary research tools, you will assemble a fact base, counsel consultants and clients on the scope of the business and economic trends surrounding the issue and provide insights and analysis for solving client problems at hand.
On a daily basis, you will identify the key issues for a problem at hand and determine the most appropriate solution, while effectively balancing quality, availability, timeliness, and cost factors. You'll likely perform a variety of analyses such as benchmarking, trend identification, industry profiling, market sizing, growth projections and opportunity scanning to add value to problem-solving discussions.
You will also participate in, and eventually lead, internal knowledge development and capability-building initiatives. Lasty, you'll use advanced analytics tools to prepare and analyze large datasets to distil insights.
Your qualifications and skills
  • University degree; preferably in business, finance, or economics
  • 1+ years of private equity, investment research, or analytics experience
  • Interest and/or experience with healthcare is strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of economic, financial, and general business concepts and terminology
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Familiarity with core statistical concepts (e.g., correlation, regressions, confidence intervals, etc.)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively

is $92,000 - $95,000 USD -to help you understand what you can expect. This reflects our best estimate of the lowest to highest
[salary/hourly wages] for this role at the time of this posting, ensuring you have a clear picture right from the start, though it's important
to remember that actual salaries may vary. Factors like your office location, your unique blend of experience and skills, start date and our current
organizational needs all play a part in determining the final figure. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to McKinsey's discretion
and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance.
