The transport Basic Provider (EMT) is responsible for providing high quality critical care and transportation of critically ill or injured patients to the appropriate medical facilities utilizing standards and guidelines established by Mercyhealth Medical Director(s). The transport EMT is a key member of the Emergency Department (E.D.), and demonstrates the highest quality of emergency/critical care standards of practice and commitment to safety. Cares for patients, prepare and compiles records, and process orders in the hospital setting under direction of nursing staff, by performing duties within scope of practice, and supporting the nursing philosophy. May include weekends, holidays, day, evening, night and /or on-call hours. Participate as an active member of outreach by assisting with education classes both comprising and giving education to hospital staff and EMS agencies. Participates in Quality Improvement (Q.I) of the CCTT program as a whole. Perform other duties as assigned including floating to various units and facilities within Mercyhealth based on identified needs and clinical competency. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Education and Experience Minimum three (2) years' experience in a busy 911 system and ALS experience. Preferred: five (5) years of experience. Previous Critical Care transport experience preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS * Passing the Motor Vehicle Report. * Illinois and Wisconsin Health Care Workers Background Check. * Must be able to follow written/oral instructions. INFORMATION ACCESS Partners will have access to patient care records and PHI within this job role

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color, vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
