Job Details:

Purpose

Provide programmatic and administrative support for recruitment and outreach programming within the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. Coordinate the operations of all recruitment and yield programs for undergraduate and graduate student to enhance enrollment; builds and improve programs that strengthen the ECE community across students, faculty, alumni, prospective employers, and staff. Work closely within a team-based environment to plan, execute, and assess various one-time and ongoing recruitment efforts throughout the year.

Responsibilities
  • Advise, communicate and monitor GPAs of all ECE Honors students. Facilitate and/or supervise 3 ECE Honors FIGS during fall semester. Create monthly events for ECE Honors students. Collaborate with Canfield Business Honors Program staff to create community for ECB students. Support and collaborate with ECE Honors student organization as needed to further partnerships with undergraduates to foster a strong sense of community amongst ECE honors students.

  • Coordinate and assist with ECE outreach events such as STEM Educators Day, Tech Core Fairs, Gone to ECE, and others.

  • Lead all departmental recruitment efforts, yield events, and initiatives at the undergraduate and graduate level, including ECE Honors, ECB Honors, Traditional ECE Undergraduate Program, Graduate Program. Manage direct communication efforts, working with prospective students and their families. Create, design, and coordinate new initiatives to improve recruitment efforts. Make presentations to various related audiences as appropriate.

  • Oversee application process for the ECE Honors, ECB Honors Program, attend all UT Admissions Honors Monthly meetings and participate in University Recruitment events. Serve on ECE Honors admissions review board with Honors faculty chair.

  • Participate in undergraduate orientation advising and advise all new ECE Honors and ECB Honor students and assist with advising during early registration and 12th class days.

  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on impact of student programming. Collect, analyze, and manage data on recruiting, retaining, and graduating students.

  • Routine Advising duties: Assist with ECE drop-in advising, meet with both honors and non-honors students as needed. Provide continuing academic guidance to honors students. Participate in undergraduate orientation advising and advise all new ECE Honors and ECB Honors students. Assist with advising during early registration and 12th class days.

  • Supervise and hire ECE student Ambassadors to assist with recruitment events.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Three years of experience coordinating or administering student programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work well as a team member.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail and follow instructions without close supervision.

  • Goal-driven, self-directed and creative with excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, verbal and written skills.

  • Professional demeanor.

  • Regular and punctual attendance.

Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree.

  • Experience coordinating programs in higher education or a related field.

  • Experience planning, coordinating, and executing events or college student programming.

  • Experience in volunteer coordination.

  • Experience in community-based work, whether at a university, corporation, or nonprofit.

  • Familiarity with social media and web applications for outreach, productivity and other projects.

Salary Range

$48,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions
  • May work around standard office conditions.

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

  • Work outside of normal business hours may be required on a periodic basis, to include weekend and evening work.

  • Travel may be required on a periodic basis.

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
