The Department of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is seeking outstanding applicants to fill a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position in the Division of Medical Oncology. Under general supervision and in accordance with standardized procedures, the nurse practitioner/physician assistant performs physicalexaminationsand treats common episodicand chronic health care problems,counselspatientsand families, monitors patient progress, and assists with clinical research projects. The nurse practitioner/physician assistant works in collaboration with otherhealthcare team members, consulting and referring as appropriate, but retains responsibility for ongoing clinical management of oncology patients. Successful candidates will have strong clinical skills and interest in serving a diverse patient population in both private and public clinical practice. Specific Duties include: The NP or PA will be working with all oncology subspecialties at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles, CA in an academic training environment with residents and fellows. Minimum Field of Expertise: For NP candidates, possession of current certificate of completion from a Nurse Practitioner program. Current and valid California State RN and Nurse Practitioner licenses, and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. Clinical nursing experience.
