Job Summary:



The University of Colorado has multiple postdoctoral scholar positions available to collaborate with a team of economists, clinicians, and health services researchers. Create and work with linked data to understand the relationships between financial behaviors and health and impacts of policy changes on the quality and efficiency of healthcare for the elderly. Gain hands-on experience in many dimensions of health economics and health services research working on studies with immediate clinical and policy relevance. Learn to take on roles working independently as part of a larger research team

Key Responsibilities:



  • Clean and analyze administrative, survey, and health system data
  • Prepare tables and figures for papers, presentations, and grants
  • Perform literature reviews
  • Coordinate members of the study team and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Prioritize work across multiple studies or deadlines
  • Contribute to papers and grants, ideally taking the lead on parts of a large research agenda

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.



  • PhD in health economics, health services research, or a related field
  • Prior research related to aging and/or health economics
  • Experience with large data sets and econometrics
  • Expertise in end-of-life care, dementia, and related areas


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Prior experience programming in Stata
  • Econometrics and related coursework/research experience
  • Familiarity with the US healthcare system
  • Interests in health policy, medicine, economics, especially for older adults


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Data management, programming and analytical skills
  • Ability to work with large datasets
  • Excellent written communication
  • Ability to multitask and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
  • Potential to develop an independent research career
