Job Duties

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production, packaging, and material-handling equipment using checklists and work instructions.
• Inspect equipment for wear, leaks, loose parts, damaged guards, unusual sounds, vibration, and other signs of trouble.
• Complete routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, tightening, adjusting, and replacing approved components.
• Respond to equipment concerns, perform initial checks, and promptly escalate issues that require advanced mechanical, electrical, or controls troubleshooting.
• Assist experienced technicians with repairs, installations, equipment changeovers, and improvement projects.
• Support equipment startups, shutdowns, line changeovers, and production transitions.
• Receive and update work orders in a computerized maintenance system. Document inspections, completed work, parts used, observations, and unresolved issues.
• Use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and maintenance equipment safely.
• Follow lockout/tagout, PPE, machine safety, sanitation, and other applicable procedures.
• Keep tools, supplies, shop areas, and workspaces clean and organized. Notify leadership when commonly used parts or materials need replenishment.
• Communicate equipment conditions, completed work, and follow-up needs to maintenance and production teams.
• Participate in safety and technical training and perform other related maintenance duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school, vocational training, or industrial maintenance certification may also be considered.

Experience Requirements

• At least two years of hands-on maintenance, mechanical, automotive, military, construction, or related technical experience are required.
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic equipment.
• Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints, or equipment documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and preventative maintenance practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related technical environment is preferred.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance programs and responding to equipment breakdowns is beneficial.
• Knowledge of PLCs, electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, or fabrication is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement are well positioned for success as a Maintenance Technician.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in a variety of industrial environments throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift equipment, tools, and replacement parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely work around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
• Manual dexterity to operate tools, perform repairs, and inspect equipment.
