Location: Dearborn, MI

Pay: $36.67+/hour

Schedule: Hybrid (4 days onsite per week)

We're seeking a detail-oriented Design Release Engineer to support the development and release of automotive closure systems, including hoods, doors, liftgates, decklids, and related components. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cross-functional engineering, supplier, and design teams to help bring innovative vehicle programs from concept through production.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.

Experience Requirements

• Experience supporting automotive component design, product development, or engineering release activities.
• Familiarity with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
• Ability to perform measurements and design reviews using CAD software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of GD&T, design validation, and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of automotive closures, body structures, or exterior systems.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and supplier coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.

Job Duties

• Support engineering release activities for automotive closure systems and adjoining components.
• Develop and review 3D CAD models while ensuring fit, finish, and design intent.
• Lead and maintain DFMEA documentation throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Review designs for compliance with engineering standards and design requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers to address quality concerns, corrective actions, and engineering changes.
• Create and maintain verification records, evidence packages, and technical documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, interference checks, and cross-functional program meetings.
• Support production readiness, quality objectives, and program milestones.
