Overview

Alliance Cancer Specialists is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Clinical Research Data Coordinator to support our growing oncology research program. This role is responsible for managing patient research records, tracking clinical trial participation, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of research data throughout the patient journey, from enrollment through long-term follow-up.

The Clinical Research Data Coordinator plays a key role in supporting clinical trial operations by maintaining research documentation, coordinating patient appointments, preparing records for audits, and assisting with various research-related activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, enjoys working with data and documentation, and is passionate about contributing to advancements in cancer care through clinical research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and organized patient research records and data files for easy retrieval and review.
  • Track and collect patient data from enrollment through treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term follow-up.
  • Manage clinical research logs and support research data entry and database management activities.
  • Schedule patient consultations, diagnostic testing, procedures, and follow-up appointments as requested.
  • Prepare research records and documentation for regulatory, accreditation, and research audits.
  • Maintain research supplies, investigational products, and storage areas in accordance with department procedures.
  • Assist with direct patient care activities, including obtaining vital signs and supporting procedures when appropriate.
  • Support collection and processing of research specimens.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and research staff to ensure successful study execution.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical research regulations, ethical standards, and organizational policies.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of medical office experience required; oncology experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with data entry and database management preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Maintains patient data files in an organized manner for easy retrieval and review.
Collects patient data from initial patient contact through course of therapy, rehabilitation, and long-term care.
Assists with scheduling consultations, diagnostic tests or procedures, and future appointments for patients with physicians as requested.
Prepares patient records for audits by regulatory, accrediting, and research organizations.
Maintains supplies, drugs and storage facilities for clinical research as appropriate.
May enter some pertinent data in computer system in a timely manner as outlined by department guidelines.
May assist physicians and nurses with direct patient care including vital signs and assisting in procedures. May assist with collecting and processing specimens for research purposes.
Minimum Job qualification (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
Education/Training -
High school diploma or equivalent required
1 year medical office experience, oncology experience preferred
Business Experience -
Experience in Microsoft Office
Experience with computer data entry and database management preferred
Specialized Knowledge/Skills-
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Attention to details and accuracy
Working Conditions:
Environment (Office, warehouse, etc.) -
Traditional clinic office environment.
