Supervisor - New Patient Coordinators - East Texas

Texas Oncology is looking for a New Patient Scheduling Supervisor to join our team! This position will support the New Patient Coordinators at our 501 Saunders Avenue clinic in Tyler, Texas. Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00a - 5:00p.

What does the New Patient Scheduling Supervisor do?

The Supervisor, New Patient Access & Scheduling is responsible for the daily leadership, performance, and operational oversight of a team supporting new patient scheduling and access services. This role ensures patients are scheduled in a timely manner, providers' schedules are optimized, and operational workflows support an exceptional patient experience.

The Supervisor partners closely with physicians, clinic leadership, nursing teams, and operational departments to drive patient access, improve scheduling efficiency, achieve key performance metrics, and support the overall success of the new patient scheduling function. This leader promotes a culture of accountability, collaboration, service excellence, and continuous improvement while supporting organizational growth and patient-centered care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervises the daily operations of the new patient scheduling team, ensuring timely and accurate patient access and appointment scheduling.
• Provides leadership, coaching, performance management, and professional development for scheduling and patient access staff.
• Partners with physicians, clinic leadership, nursing teams, and operational stakeholders to support efficient scheduling workflows and optimize patient access.
• Monitors and drives performance against established key performance indicators, including productivity, quality, scheduling timeliness, patient access, and patient experience metrics.
• Identifies operational barriers and leads process improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling efficiency, patient access, and team effectiveness.
• Supports resolution of complex scheduling, patient access, and workflow issues while ensuring a high level of customer service.
• Develops, implements, and maintains scheduling processes, standards, and training programs to promote consistency and operational excellence.
• Collaborates with leadership on staffing, workload management, reporting, and strategic initiatives that support organizational growth and operational performance.

The ideal candidate for theScheduling Supervisor rolewill have the following background and experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Minimum seven years office experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
