About this Role

The CNC Machinist is responsible for manufacturing, modifying, and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and machine components to support production and maintenance needs. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work from engineering drawings, CAD models, and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

* Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment (lathes, mills, grinders, EDM, etc.) to produce or repair tooling components.

* Interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, CAD files, and written/verbal instructions.

* Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools to verify part accuracy.

* Maintain, sharpen, and repair cutting tools, dies, fixtures, and molds.

* Modify and adapt existing tooling to meet updated specifications or production needs.

* Troubleshoot tooling issues and collaborate with engineers, maintenance, and production teams to implement solutions.

* Ensure all machining work meets required quality standards and tolerances.

* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company safety and housekeeping standards.

* Track and document work performed, tooling changes, and maintenance history.

Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.

* Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a machinist, preferably in a tool room or precision machining environment.

* Experience with 5-Axis, Market Cam, G-Code.

* Experience with MasterCam

* Proficient in the setup and operation of manual and CNC machines.

* Strong knowledge of machining processes, cutting speeds, feeds, and tooling.

* Ability to hold tight tolerances (.0005" or better).

* Skilled in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings.

* Basic understanding of CAD/CAM software is an asset.

* Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

* Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Physical Demands (Reasonable accommodations provided):

• Ability to lift and/or move 35 lbs.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the production floor.
• Physical requirements include but not limited to sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, stooping, crouching, color determination and grasping.
