Department Summary Excelling in quality, innovation, and impact, UCLA Extension (UCLAx) is one of the top providers of continuing and professional education in the United States, offering programs and classes to more than 50,000 students per year through approximately 4,500 classes and certificate programs to meet the professional development, continuing education, and personal enrichment needs of the full spectrum of traditional, nontraditional, domestic, international, professional, and continuing education students throughout and beyond Los Angeles. Position Summary UCLA Extension is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Career Services Specialist (Limited) to join the Center for Advising and Student Success (CASS). In this impactful role, you'll empower students and alumni to achieve their professional goals through career coaching, innovative programming, employer partnerships, and data-informed career services initiatives. As a key member of the Student Services team, you will provide personalized career guidance, facilitate workshops and webinars, build relationships with employers, and help create opportunities that connect students with internships and employment across diverse industries. This position is ideal for a career development professional who is passionate about student success, workforce development, and creating meaningful pathways from education to employment. Salary & Compensation UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications* 3 - 5 years Progressively responsible experience in the field, including knowledge of career development theories, evolving career services advising, and contemporary labor market trends across diverse industries (Required) Demonstrated ability to provide career advising, coaching, and student support services to individuals from diverse educational, professional, cultural, and personal backgrounds. (Required) Knowledge of career development theories, workforce trends, and the unique needs of adult, continuing education, and non-traditional student populations. (Required) Knowledge of recruiting processes, employer engagement strategies, and practices for connecting students and alumni with career opportunities. (Required) Proficiency in the use of CRM systems, career services technologies, data management tools, and applicable data privacy requirements. (Required) Skill in delivering career counseling, workshops, webinars, and presentations across in-person, hybrid, and virtual learning environments. (Required) Ability to develop engaging career education resources, digital learning materials, and scalable self-service tools. (Required) Strong relationship-building and networking skills, with the ability to foster partnerships with employers, alumni, academic departments, and community stakeholders. (Required) Skill in planning, coordinating, promoting, and assessing career-related events, employer programs, and experiential learning opportunities. (Required) Ability to provide advising and career support across multiple academic disciplines and adapt to changing programmatic needs. (Required) Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret student outcomes, placement data, labor market information, and performance metrics to support strategic decision-making. (Required) Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and serve diverse student, alumni, employer, and campus constituencies. (Required) Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively; maintain confidentiality; deliver exceptional customer service; adapt to changing priorities; and respond constructively to feedback and continuous improvement initiatives.
