General Job Description Position Overview IES Residential is seeking a Plumbing Superintendent to join our team. Previous plumbing construction management and field operations experience is preferred. We are looking for a highly organized, safety-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and can effectively oversee plumbing operations, lead field personnel, coordinate project requirements, and support the successful completion of plumbing projects. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily plumbing construction and field operations on assigned job sites. Manage plumbing field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and operational activities to ensure project success. Review plumbing project plans, specifications, schedules, and operational requirements to ensure compliance and timely completion. Monitor plumbing job progress, productivity, safety, and quality standards throughout all phases of construction. Coordinate with project managers, customers, office staff, and plumbing field teams regarding project schedules and operational updates. Identify and resolve plumbing job site issues, delays, safety concerns, and operational conflicts in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, applicable plumbing and building codes, and operational procedures. Maintain accurate plumbing job site documentation, reports, inspections, and project records. Assist with plumbing workforce planning, scheduling, material coordination, and equipment usage. Provide leadership, training, and support to plumbing field personnel and operational teams. Contribute as a team player in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Maintain professionalism and excellent customer service at all times. Perform additional administrative and operational support tasks as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Education None Minimum Years of Experience 4-6 Specific Qualifications Qualifications Previous Plumbing Superintendent, plumbing construction management, or plumbing field operations experience preferred. Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, equipment, installation practices, and construction methods. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Knowledge of plumbing construction practices, safety standards, applicable plumbing codes, and building codes. Ability to read and interpret plumbing blueprints, drawings, project plans, and specifications. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to pass pre-employment screenings such as background and motor vehicle record checks. English speaking, reading, and writing preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Spanish speaking preferred. Maintain professionalism and a positive, respectful demeanor with customers, coworkers, and business partners. Education/Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous plumbing construction and field operations experience preferred. Relevant plumbing certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Use plumbing tools, equipment, phones, and tablets. Ability to effectively multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing operational demands. Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require. Stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, and lift throughout the workday. Sit for extended periods while driving to and between job sites. Work on active job sites, indoors and outdoors, including attics, crawlspaces, and confined or elevated spaces, with exposure to varying weather, construction noise, dust, and other job site conditions. Wear safety gear such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service and operational needs. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures. Communicate in person, by phone, and electronically, including on a tablet, smartphone, and other office technology. Travel as required to support project and operational needs. Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position. Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.
