Description

At Gensler, we design for people. We leverage our global perspective and local presence to innovate at every scale. We're not just designers. We're tinkerers, craftspeople, visionaries, innovators, and thought leaders. We have a culture of connectivity. Fueled by passion and entrepreneurial spirit, our people bring new ideas to solve the world's most challenging problems, like designing a more resilient, inclusive, and equitable future for our communities and cities.

Your Role

At Gensler, we believe in the power of great learning experience design to transform how our people learn, grow, and thrive. We design learning experiences the same way we design spaces - with intention, craft, and an eye toward how every touchpoint shapes how people feel, think, connect, and grow. What we design and produce sets the standard: not just functional, but compelling; not just clear, but exciting. Every touchpoint reflects our craft. If it doesn't look and feel like it came from a design firm, it isn't finished.

This role reports to our Learning Experience Design Leader and sits within Gensler's Global Talent Development team, a group of strategists, program managers, and senior leaders who design and deliver learning experiences that reach thousands of Gensler professionals across the globe. You will work to execute and contribute to a vision for what learning looks, feels, and functions like at a global design firm, serving as the creative production engine for our program portfolio across all modalities.

We are looking for someone fast, curious, and obsessed with craft, someone who brings fresh ideas to the table, stays ahead of what's possible, and executes at a level that reflects who we are as a design firm. You will enjoy working from our Los Angeles office each day.

What You'll Do Creative Production & Visual Storytelling
  • Produce end-to-end video content from concept and storyboard through production and editorial-quality final cuts, contributing to the story arc and ensuring edits align with program messaging and learning intent
  • Uses Generative AI Visualization tools to build scenario-based content - bringing real workplace situations and challenges to life - extending our ability to produce a growing library of dynamic, Gensler-specific video without a studio or cast
  • Partner to design and execute program collateral across all modalities, including decks, facilitation guides, participant workbooks, promotional campaigns, and communications, all held to Gensler's brand design standards and our team's specific visual identity
  • Partner to design and execute program brand identities, including visual systems, color, typography, and tone that give each initiative a distinct voice while staying true to a unifying global talent brand
  • Develop internal communications as campaigns, including launch materials, program invitations, and promotional content that generate excitement and anticipation before anyone walks in the room
  • Source and curate content with a strong editorial eye, knowing where to find the right reference, clip, image, or resource and how to integrate it with craft and purpose
Learning Design Partnership
  • Collaborate with the LXD and Strategy leaders from the early stages of program development, understanding the learning strategy, contributing ideas, and translating direction into the right visual and production choices
  • Develop and edit scripts, narratives, and written content that translate complex learning concepts into clear, compelling, and appropriately voiced copy across program materials
  • Translate learning strategy and intent into visual and production choices that hold up to Gensler's design standards, with enough instructional judgment to know why a design choice works, not just that it looks right
  • Apply learner-centered design principles to every production decision, building experiences where learners don't just receive information but practice, apply, and make meaning in experiential, scenario-based environments
  • Contribute to a growing point of view on the future of immersive learning experience design, including AR/VR, simulation, and what's next, and how we evolve our program portfolio accordingly
Learning Technology & Data
  • Support LMS administration and content management within Workday Learning
  • Working knowledge of data tools such as Power BI, Excel, and AI-assisted analytics to calculate, interpret, and build compelling data visualizations for program reporting and executive summaries
  • Stay current on learning technology integrations and platform capabilities that support a better learner experience
Your Qualifications Required
  • 5+ years related experience
  • A portfolio showing range and a clear point of view across video, graphic design, brand identity, and campaign-level communications
  • End-to-end video production skills, with range across registers - from cinematic, premium-platform storytelling to lightweight, bite-sized, dynamic content - and the instinct for which one a moment calls for
  • Graphic design and layout skills at brand level, with strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Working across a range of AI tools to move faster on drafting, iteration, and production without sacrificing craft
  • Working knowledge of eLearning authoring tools, including Articulate 360 and Rise or equivalent
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms, with Workday Learning preferred
  • Experience with data visualization for learning analytics and executive reporting
  • Experience working within a learning design process - you have been part of the development of programs, understand how learning experiences are built from the ground up, and know how to plug into that process as a creative partner
  • A genuine passion for people and the belief that great learning experiences can change how someone sees themselves and what they believe is possible
  • Agility, moving fast, adapting readily, and not over-engineering before something has been tested
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across regions, cultures, and time zones, with the flexibility to accommodate occasional meetings and program activities outside standard business hours
Nice to Have
  • Experience designing or developing AR/VR or immersive learning experiences
  • Pulling and analyzing program data and translating findings into clean, compelling visuals for executive summaries and program reports
  • A developing point of view on where immersive and experiential learning technology is heading and how it applies to professional development at scale
  • Experience in a design, architecture, or creative professional services environment
Who You Are

You have a filmmaker's instinct and a brand designer's eye. You are the person who notices when the font is wrong and when the edit is two seconds too long. You think about every touchpoint, from the email that goes out two weeks before to the cover of the workbook to the closing slide, as part of the same experience. Every deliverable is an opportunity to set the standard - not just functional, but compelling. Not just clear, but exciting.

You thrive in a fast-paced, high-trust environment and bring a sense of optimism and energy to everything you touch. You move fast without losing your eye for what makes something beautiful and whole. You are comfortable working across distributed global teams, managing multiple deadlines in partnership with a project manager, and staying organized without losing your creative momentum. You are genuinely excited by what new tools make possible and you use them to get to great faster, while never loosing sight of a human led training philosophy.

**The base range is estimated to be between $120-130k, plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
