About the College/Unit/Department
The University of Georgia School of Medicine was founded in 2024 and received preliminary accreditation in 2026.
The establishment of a new public medical school at UGA comes as the state faces a significant shortage of medical professionals. The population of Georgia, the nation's eighth-largest state, has surged to approximately 11 million residents, straining existing medical infrastructure and resulting in longer wait times for appointments and reduced access to care. Georgia currently ranks 39th in the nation for the number of active patient care physicians per capita and 41st for the number of public medical students per capita.
As a top-20 public university with a thriving research enterprise and vast public service network, the University of Georgia is well-positioned to produce more highly trained physicians, alleviate physician shortages, and improve the state's ability to provide quality health care for its citizens.
The School of Medicine is located on UGA's Health Sciences Campus in Athens. In its inaugural year, the UGA School of Medicine will enroll 60 students per class, but a new $100 million medical school building will enable the UGA School of Medicine to grow to 120 students per class in the future.

Position Summary
This position supports the activities of the AU/ UGA Medical Partnership's Office of Curriculum and Site Clerkship Directors. Reporting to the Campus Director of Clerkship and Enrichment Curriculum, the incumbent manages site placement, registering, and scheduling for 3rd and/or 4th year medical students, including creating, overseeing, and daily maintenance of clerkship rotation schedules for assigned clerkships. This includes, but is not limited to, scheduling and course management across several software platforms (One45, Desire2Learn, Banner, Aquifer) and supporting clerkship community faculty preceptors and site administrators as needed. In addition, this position serves as lead coordinator for community faculty preceptor recruitment and processing academic appointments, managing the Preceptor Tax Incentive Program ( PTIP) requirements and reporting, and coordinating student orientations.

3rd and/or 4th year student course management, which includes the scheduling, support, and management of assigned clerkships and/or electives across multiple software platforms, and developing and maintaining course curriculum sites. Also responsible for the collection, distribution, and organization of assigned clerkship evaluations of students and faculty for the Office of Curriculum. Serve as a liaison between the Medical Partnership and community faculty preceptors and site administrators. Assist in coordinating site availability for annual clerkship query process.

Serve as liaison between the Medical Partnership and its community faculty preceptors to obtain Preceptor Tax Incentive Program ( PTIP) credit from Georgia's statewide Area Health Education Center office. Responsible for collecting required information and accurate and timely reporting. Maintain a database of active and inactive community faculty preceptors and listserv for current year Clerkship and Enrichment community faculty preceptors.
