Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of large-scale commercial low voltage and hyperscale data center infrastructure projects across the United States. This is a national travel position requiring extensive travel to active project sites, with assignments typically lasting 4-6 weeks at a time. The Project Manager oversees project planning, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, installation, financial performance, quality assurance, and project closeout while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role serves as the primary liaison between customers, field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams while driving operational excellence and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Job Responsibilities




  • Manage the complete lifecycle of commercial low voltage and data center infrastructure projects from pre-construction through project closeout.



  • Execute assigned project objectives, targets, and deliverables.



  • Participate in project planning, forecasting, and operational review meetings.



  • Follow established operational guidelines throughout the pre-sales, planning, delivery, closeout, and post-installation phases.



  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and milestone completion.



  • Identify project risks and implement proactive and corrective action plans.



  • Manage project change control processes and obtain approved change orders.



  • Coordinate field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality project execution.



  • Monitor quality assurance throughout all phases of project delivery.



  • Maintain accurate project documentation and system data.



  • Align purchase orders, contracts, proposals, and project financial documentation.



  • Manage project billing schedules and ensure timely invoicing.



  • Review project budgets, financial performance, project metrics, accounts receivable, pending awards, invoicing, and system updates on a regular basis.



  • Report project status, including safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance, to senior leadership.



  • Lead, motivate, and support superintendents, field leaders, and project teams to achieve production goals.



  • Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships and support additional business opportunities.



  • Maintain exceptional customer service while building strong client relationships.



  • Support continuous process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.



  • Perform other related duties as assigned.




Job Requirements




  • 5-10 years of experience managing large-scale commercial low voltage installation projects, preferably within hyperscale data center environments.



  • Proven experience managing project financial performance, including profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities.



  • Experience leading field teams, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors on large commercial construction projects.



  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States for project assignments.



  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and design documents.



  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.



  • Knowledge of voice, data, fiber optic, and wireless infrastructure installation projects.



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, Bluebeam, and other project management software.



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.



  • Strong organizational, leadership, and time management skills.



  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.



  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.



  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.



  • Resourceful with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.



  • Highly dependable with strong attention to detail.



  • Ability to stand and walk active construction job sites.




Education




  • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree preferred.



  • PMI/PMP certification or equivalent preferred.



  • RCDD certification preferred but not required.

Additional Job Details (Commute, Attendance, etc.)




  • This position requires national travel.



  • Travel is expected to be 100% initially, with the opportunity to decrease to approximately 75% and eventually 50% based on business needs and demonstrated performance.



  • Project assignments typically require remaining onsite for 4-6 consecutive weeks.



  • Daily travel per diem provided.



  • Company-provided shared lodging with private bedrooms during travel assignments.



  • Typical work schedule begins around 7:00 AM.



  • Expected work schedule is approximately 50-60 hours per week depending on project demands.
