Milliman's Minneapolis Health and Life Practice is looking for an FSA with extensive experience in Medicare Advantage and general experience providing health actuarial support for risk-bearing entities in the United States across multiple lines of business. The position requires creative actuarial capabilities, good communication and interpersonal skills, and organizational talents. A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to lead a team of analysts are also necessary for success.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will have the opportunity to



  • Lead Medicare Advantage forecasting and bids
  • Present results to and participate in strategic discussions with clients
  • Provide strategic guidance to health plans, provider systems, and other stakeholders around evolving impacts of the Inflation Reduction Act and other regulatory and market forces affecting Medicare Advantage and other lines of business
  • Design and direct analysis of healthcare data
  • Write reports that explain technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audience
  • Manage projects through completion within an expected budget and timeframe
  • Contribute appropriately to marketing efforts and the strategic direction of our practice
  • Develop business at new and existing clients
  • Supervise actuarial students, actuaries, and data analysts in the completion of technical aspects of actuarial projects.

What We Are Looking For

Professional Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field
  • FSA designation
  • 20+ years' experience in the actuarial field
  • At least 5 years of health actuarial consulting experience
  • Experience preparing and certifying Medicare Advantage bids
  • Experience managing actuarial teams

The Minneapolis Health and Life practice is composed of healthcare and long-term care insurance professionals who provide our clients with industry-leading consulting services. We also develop and maintain innovative products that complement our consulting services. We are an expanding group with experience leading the way in industries that continuously change and evolve. This actuary role is involved in work that supports all areas of the practice. The analyses and techniques used are cutting edge while providing clients with accurate and easily interpreted business results. Employees balance working independently and collaborating with other team members. Analysts, actuaries, and subject matter experts work closely together to ensure solutions are both accurate and solve the correct problem for the client.

Location

The expected application deadline for this job is August 15, 2026. Candidates hired into this role will be required to work in-person in the Milliman office in Eden Prairie, Minnesota on a weekly basis, but flexible work arrangements will be considered.

Compensation

The overall range for this role is $132,100 - $238,400. A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc.
