Position Overview

As Spiro continues its impressive growth, we are hiring an Associate Account Director to join our Brand Activation & Events (BAE) team.

The Associate Account Director leads medium-to-large client programs start to finish, becoming a strategic client expert who is expected to help identify and grow revenue across their accounts.

As an Associate Account Director, you will lead client programs with senior leadership available for consult rather than oversight, working proactively with cross-functional teams (strategy, creative, production) to keep programs fiscally healthy and strategically sound.

You will:



  • Lead medium-to-large client programs start to finish with only senior leadership for consult.
  • Become a trusted strategic expert for your clients' business.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to grow client revenue.
  • Maintain strong financial stewardship, keeping programs fiscally successful.
  • Provide program-specific mentorship and act as a client consultant on projects led by junior team members.
  • Bring a client point of view that elevates how programs are structured and run.
  • Represent Spiro with professionalism, curiosity and a solutions-first mindset.


Responsibilities

Overall responsibilities consist of, but are not limited to, the following:


Client Leadership

  • Lead client programs start to finish, with senior leadership available for consult rather than oversight.
  • Draft and submit SOWs and manage scope creep to keep programs fiscally successful, flagging opportunities to increase scope.
  • Analyze the risk and legal implications of MSAs and SOWs, escalating to leadership and legal as needed.
  • Navigate hard conversations with clients and internal teams as they arise.
  • Serve as a client consultant on projects led by junior members of the team.


Account Growth & Business Development

  • Own growth metrics for your assigned clients, with a strategic, growth-oriented point of view.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to grow client revenue for the agency.
  • Strategically entertain clients with organic growth in mind.
  • Partner with your manager to build the content for client QBRs.


Project Management

  • Management and execution of all internal and external administrative duties from job code creation to ensuring contract compliance of SOWs and MSAs and everything in between
  • Set timelines in collaboration with other departments to ensure all deliverables are feasible.
  • Structure workstreams by bringing a client point of view that sets the team up for success.
  • Elegantly navigate roadblocks and lead the team to solutions in the moment.


Financial Stewardship

  • Build and lead budget estimates with Production and apply resourcing and pricing strategy knowledge.
  • Work with Production to keep budgets on track, flagging overages to internal and client teams.
  • Take partial ownership of final gross margin (GM) delivery on your programs.


Team Leadership

  • Provide program-specific mentorship to support-level team members.
  • Direct and share feedback with cross-functional partner teams in a collaborative, well-received way.
  • See the bigger picture, delivering feedback that ladders up to agency and department goals.


Program Delivery

From kickoff through final reconciliation, you'll serve as the day-to-day lead for assigned programs.

Responsibilities include:



  • Leading client communication throughout the lifecycle of each program.
  • Coordinating internal planning and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Managing timelines, deliverables and project milestones.
  • Ensuring documentation, project management tools and communication channels remain organized and current.
  • Leading site visits and onsite execution while serving as the primary client liaison.
  • Leading post-event debriefs, recap presentations and recommendations for future opportunities.


Qualifications, Skills & Competencies



  • Qualifications

    • 6-8 years of experience in an account-based role with a focus in experiential for both B2B and B2C.
    • Bachelor's degree, preferably business/marketing/communications emphasis or equivalent industry experience.
    • Proven success leading client programs and growing client relationships.
    • Strong negotiation skills.
    • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
    • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and an understanding of AI tech.
    • Ability to travel up to 25%.

How to measure success



  • By 30 days incumbent should understand team dynamics and perform basic job functions independently
  • By 60 days incumbent should be self-reliant on basic job functions and begin executing more complex tasks
  • By 90 days, incumbent should have ownership over specific projects
