Overview R&P is looking for a professional who wants to join our team. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. We need a Mechanical Engineer IV ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment. The candidate shall design and develop mechanical parts, components, and equipment and provide engineering, manufacturing and project support. The position requires the Mechanical Engineer to perform all aspects of engineering functions such as, 2D drawing, 3D modelling and designing new products using computer-aided design software such as Solidworks, Pro-E, AutoCAD Inventor for modelling, digital surfacing, drawing creation, and reverse engineering and component selection. The Mechanical Engineer IV must have the ability to produce moderately complex engineering drawings/diagrams and assist in troubleshooting the design of company products. Responsibilities Independently plan and perform engineering and technical work concerning the design, engineering and drafting of company products. Qualifications * Associates or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent. Minimum 10 years of product design/engineering experience, in an engineering environment and demonstrated skills in the design of moderately complex fabricated and machined parts and assemblies. * Knowledge of operation, principles, and practices of engineering drafting and computer programs with intermediate skills in Solidworks, PRO-E, AutoCAD, or AutoCAD Inventor software programs. * Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Matlab, Mathcad and Maple a plus. * A creative approach for generating new ideas. Knowledge of fabrication methods, welding techniques, machine tools, cutting tools, and machining process.
