Senior Director, Health Plans & Market Access Strategy

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Senior Director, Health Plans & Market Access Strategy is a strategic individual contributor within the Quanterix Diagnostics Business Unit responsible for accelerating payer adoption, reimbursement, and market access for Quanterix's diagnostic portfolio. Reporting to the SVP & GM, this role will serve as the primary business lead for health plan engagement, Medicare strategy, public policy influence, payer stakeholder development, and direct payer contracting strategy across the United States.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience working with commercial payers or direct experience within a health plan, along with a deep understanding of payer decision-making, Medicare policy, value-based care models, risk-bearing organizations, diagnostic reimbursement, and market access requirements. This individual will be required to directly negotiate contractual status with payers across the USA and will work cross-functionally with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR), Regulatory, and Market Access teams to shape evidence generation, reimbursement strategy, and market development initiatives.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Develop and execute Quanterix's Medicare and commercial payer market access strategy to accelerate coverage, reimbursement, contractual status, and adoption of diagnostic solutions.
  • Directly negotiate contractual status with national, regional, and local payers across the USA, including commercial health plans, Medicare Advantage organizations, Medicaid managed care organizations, and other payer stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with national health plans, large regional and local health plans, Medicare Advantage organizations, Medicaid managed care organizations, integrated delivery systems, and risk-bearing provider groups.
  • Engage payer medical, clinical policy, innovation, population health, quality, and actuarial leaders to advance adoption of Quanterix diagnostics.
  • Monitor and assess Medicare policy developments, reimbursement trends, coverage policies, and emerging payment models that impact diagnostic testing.
  • Identify opportunities for payer pilots, real-world evidence collaborations, innovative reimbursement arrangements, risk-based contracting strategies, and value-based care partnerships.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop evidence, value propositions, and payer-facing materials that support favorable coverage and reimbursement decisions.
  • Provide payer insights and market intelligence to inform product development, evidence generation, commercialization, and business planning.
  • Manage external market access, reimbursement, policy, and health economics consultants to support business objectives.
  • Represent Quanterix at payer meetings, industry conferences, policy forums, advisory boards, and other external stakeholder events.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Health Policy, Life Sciences, Economics, Pharmacy, Nursing, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive healthcare experience, including significant experience in market access, payer strategy, health plan management, reimbursement, government affairs, healthcare policy, business development, or related areas.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced degree preferred, including MBA, MPH, MHA, PharmD, JD, PhD, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years directly engaging national and regional health plans, Medicare Advantage organizations, Medicaid managed care organizations, provider organizations, or healthcare policymakers.
  • Extensive experience working directly with commercial payers or direct experience working within a health plan.
  • Demonstrated experience directly negotiating payer contracts, coverage, reimbursement, or contractual status with payers across the United States.
  • Strong understanding of Medicare policy, reimbursement methodologies, value-based care models, risk adjustment, alternative payment models, and diagnostic reimbursement pathways.
  • Experience within diagnostics, medical devices, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare services, health plans, healthcare consulting, or related sectors.
  • Experience supporting commercialization of innovative healthcare technologies, diagnostic products, or precision medicine solutions.
  • Proven success managing external consultants, advisory boards, strategic partnerships, or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and external stakeholders without direct reporting authority.

  • Deep understanding of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial payer markets.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Strong executive presence and credibility with senior healthcare decision-makers.
  • Proven ability to translate market dynamics, policy developments, and reimbursement opportunities into actionable business strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and align diverse stakeholders around common objectives.
  • Self-directed and accountable with the ability to operate effectively as an individual contributor in a complex, evolving market environment.
