Position Summary: The PDT Compliance and Governance Lead is responsible for driving compliance excellence, governance effectiveness, ethical culture, and risk transparency across the Product Development and Technology (PDT) organization. This role serves as a strategic liaison between PDT leadership and the Corporate Compliance Team, ensuring effective deployment of corporate compliance programs while promoting a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement. The position leads department-level compliance initiatives, coordinates governance and risk management activities, supports internal audit readiness and follow-through, and drives continuous improvement of compliance-related processes and communications. The role requires strong business acumen, cross-functional leadership skills, and the ability to translate complex technical, operational, and compliance matters into clear, actionable guidance. The PDT Compliance and Governance Lead reports within ETOP while functionally supporting Group Compliance objectives. The role partners closely with PDT leadership, cross-functional business stakeholders, regional compliance correspondents, and corporate compliance teams to strengthen compliance awareness, governance execution, risk visibility, and organizational effectiveness across a global organization. Key Responsibilities: Compliance Leadership & Ethics
- Lead PDT compliance deployment activities and serve as the primary coordinator between PDT leadership and Corporate Compliance.
- Promote a strong culture of ethics, integrity, and accountability through effective communication, engagement, and awareness initiatives.
- Support implementation and deployment of corporate compliance programs, policies, procedures, training, and communications.
- Monitor compliance with applicable corporate policies, standards, and expectations, identifying and escalating issues through established channels when necessary.
- Facilitate compliance-related inquiries and provide guidance to stakeholders regarding compliance processes and requirements.
Automation & Organizational Effectiveness
- Establish and maintain process automation mechanisms that support transparency, accountability, and effective decision-making across PDT.
- Coordinate process automation reviews, leadership forums, and reporting processes related to compliance, risk management, and organizational priorities.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and executive-level reporting to provide visibility into compliance performance, risks, and corrective actions.
- Support records management and policy deployment activities to ensure organizational compliance with corporate expectations.
Risk Management & Audit Support
- Facilitate identification, assessment, tracking, and mitigation of operational, compliance, and organizational risks.
- Partner with business leaders to maintain visibility into department-level risks and ensure appropriate mitigation plans are established and executed.
- Coordinate PDT participation in enterprise risk management activities and reporting processes.
- Support internal audits, compliance reviews, assessments, and follow-up activities by managing action plans, tracking commitments, and monitoring closure status.
- Provide leadership visibility into risk trends, audit findings, and corrective action progress.
Communications & Change Management
- Develop and execute communication and engagement strategies that support compliance deployment, leadership priorities, organizational initiatives, and culture objectives.
- Translate complex technical, operational, and compliance topics into clear, concise, and actionable communications for diverse audiences.
- Coordinate deployment of compliance training, awareness campaigns, educational materials, and leadership messaging.
- Support localization of compliance procedures, communications, and training materials when necessary to ensure effective global implementation.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and improve compliance and governance processes.
- Leverage data, metrics, and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with business and technical teams to enhance compliance tools, workflows, reporting capabilities, and user experience.
- Promote best practices and lessons learned across PDT to improve organizational effectiveness and consistency.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Technology, Communications, Risk Management, Compliance, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in engineering, technology, operations, compliance, governance, risk management, program management, or related disciplines.
- Experience supporting or leading compliance, governance, risk management, audit, communications, engagement planning, or process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated project and program management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deliverables simultaneously.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders without direct reporting authority.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for executive, technical, and employee audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Proven ability to simplify complex information and translate it into actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, integrity, and sound judgment when handling sensitive compliance, governance, audit, or risk-related matters.
- Self-starter with a strong bias for action, accountability, and continuous learning in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within automotive, engineering, product development, technology, manufacturing, or similarly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks, governance processes, internal controls, risk management methodologies, and audit practices.
- Experience developing executive-level reports, dashboards, presentations, and communications.
- Experience working in global organizations and collaborating across multiple regions and cultures.
- Familiarity with compliance management, risk management, governance, or workflow management tools.
