Job Overview As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (COM) has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. In partnership with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, College of Medicine's faculty are transforming the world of medicine every day. Lecturers at the University of Cincinnati are expected to teach scholarly and other professional or creative activities. This position will be responsible for instructing upper-level undergraduate students in the field of Human Medical Genetics. These activities support the University of Cincinnati's mission and commitment to excellence in our students, faculty, staff, and all of our activities. Essential Functions Co-instruct an upper-level course in the medical sciences baccalaureate program in the field of Human Medical Genetics. Develop or adapt a course syllabus that aligns with program standards, existing learning outcomes, and course descriptions. Setup, update, and actively maintain a course site on the university's learning management system. Ensure all instructional content complies with university policies, relevant accreditation, and accessibility standards (e.g., ADA compliance) Develop and deliver effective educational material for classroom instruction, including but not limited to lectures. Foster an engaging and respectful learning environment for all students. Develop, administer, and grade assessments for student learning, including but not limited to homework, quizzes, exams, projects, and presentations. Provide timely, constructive, and actional feedback to students on coursework. Maintain accurate academic records and submit grades by University deadlines. Provide scheduled office hours (virtual or in-person) to students. Identify and report at-risk students to relevant academic advisors using institutional early-alert systems. Required Education Doctoral (PhD or equivalent) degree related to the field of Human Medical Genetics. Required Experience Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research evidenced by peer reviews and publications in the field of genetics. Physical Requirements/Work Environment Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
