The Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 1 is responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance. This worker acts as an entry-level material handling technician on all equipment that is installed at the Tracy, CA Safeway location. The shift schedule is 6 am-2:30 pm with Mondays and Tuesdays off. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required. We offer:

Tasks and Qualifications:

What you will do in this role:

  • Repair and maintenance ofMaterial Handling Equipment (MHE)including belt tracking,componentadjustment/replacement,componentlubrication, etc.

  • Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, andprocedures.

  • Create and close work orders intoassetmanagement system withappropriate data,to includelabor hours, equipment maintenance, and partsused.

  • Troubleshoot basic conveyance problems and understand the resources toresolve them.

  • Locate and track spare parts from inventory.

  • Respond to basic service calls and correct equipment failures and faults.

  • Identifyproblems as they occur and takeappropriate stepsto solve them.

  • Develop andmaintainpositive working relationships across all levels of theorganization.

What We Are Looking For

  • High Schooldiploma or equivalent required.Typically,vocational technicaltrainingpreferred.

  • Demonstratea basicmechanical knowledge of a technical or specialty area.

  • Proven experience inareaof responsibility and successful demonstration ofposition and key responsibilities as presented above.

  • Able to lift and move material up to 50 pounds each

  • Regular bending, lifting,stretching,and reaching both below the waist andabove the head

  • Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100pounds

  • Have functional dexterity in both hands and wrists

  • Able to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation

  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/coldtemperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for longhours, and wet or uneven surfaces

  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
