Position Title: Assistant Professor of Leadership/Organizational Behavior Compensation: $130,000 - $133,000 Department: Management Start Date: 08/01/2027 About this opportunity: The Department of Management in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University welcomes applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor with expertise in Leadership, Organizational Behavior, or related fields. Tenure status is not granted automatically; it is awarded based on demonstrated excellence in performance, budgetary considerations, tenure density, and the needs of the university. The university will consider sponsorship. What you'll do and what you will bring: Position Function: Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting scholarly research in the areas of leadership, organizational behavior, or related fields, and service to the university and profession. Duties and Responsibilities: Teaching: Teach up to 9 semester hours of undergraduate and/or graduate courses, both on-campus and online. Teaching reduction is available for exceptional research performance. Time release and summer stipend is available for recent PhD. graduates. Research: Conduct scholarly research, primarily in the area of leadership, organizational behavior, or related fields, and publish in high-quality academic journals. Service: Actively contribute in service roles to Ball State University, local community, and the academic profession. Minimum Qualifications: Education: PhD from an AACSB-accredited institution in management or a closely related field with emphasis on leadership or organizational behavior topics. ABD candidates will be considered during the selection process. Experience: Evidence of scholarly research and teaching experience in business-related field. Teaching: At least one semester of higher education teaching experience in the field of management at an AACSB-accredited institution. Preferred Qualifications: Teaching: At least one-year (9 months) of teaching experience in leadership, organizational behavior, or human resource management at an AACSB-accredited institution with preference for candidates that have interest and ability in teaching organizational change. Research: A record of publications in prestigious refereed journals in management. Service: Contributions to a prominent organization that serves academic professionals.
