What You'll Do:

As a Senior Field Consultant, you will be responsible for the overall evaluation of Dyno's products and applications, and for implementing technologies in collaboration with other Dyno Consult resources. The role includes ensuring day-in, day-out blasting operations are executed safely and efficiently. This position will also play a key role in delivering project/initiative milestones important to the customer and potentially provide on-the-job training for customer blasting personnel to ensure safe product use. Other duties include:

  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavior-based safety. (Ensure Safe Act Observations, Job Safety Analyses, Take 5's, stretching, and all safety rules are being completed.)

  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.

  • Live and foster the Dyno Nobel Corporate Values.

  • Manage individual project-related expenses (materials & travel).

  • Contribute to achieving budgeted customer profitability as measured by EBIT.

  • Management of all company assets to assist with achieving Company budgeted gross margin.

  • Ensure quality of service by minimizing losses related to blasting.

  • Conduct pre-blast surveys e.g. face profiles, borehole deviation measurements, blast geometry measurements, product sampling, safety audits, etc.

  • Conduct blast performance measurements, e.g. digital high-speed video, vibration monitoring, vibration modelling, velocity of detonation, dynamic pressure, SHA, etc.

  • Conduct post-blast assessments, etc. fragmentation measurement, time studies, volumetric measurements, blast reporting & documentation.

  • Conduct time studies on personnel and equipment throughout an operation including drill and blast operations, truck-shovel loading, dragline, dozer assist, crushing process, etc.

  • Respond professionally and timely to address problems and business requests.

  • Support product management in key product application and technology initiatives including support to business objectives.

What We're Looking For:

  • Four-year degree in Mining, Geotechnical, Mineral, and/or Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering. Advanced Degree in Geotechnical, Civil Engineering, Computer Sciences, etc., or, equivalent time/experience in a job with proven skills. Advanced degree beneficial OR Alternatives: Demonstrated industry experience in mining and explosives

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience OR 10+ years industry-related experience

  • Experience in a blaster supervisory role preferred but not required.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure customer environment.

  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.

  • Current MSHA (or ability to receive) certification for Part 46 and 48.

  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player.
