Position Summary

The Human Resources Assistant III provides advanced administrative and operational support across multiple Human Resources functions. Working with a high degree of autonomy and independent judgment, this role is responsible for coordinating recruitment activities, employee lifecycle processes, leave administration, HR reporting, and workforce support initiatives. The HR Assistant III serves as a key resource for employees, supervisors, and HR leadership, proactively managing assigned responsibilities, communicating progress, and partnering with the broader HR team to achieve department and business objectives.

Full Time / Day Shift

Pay $25.80 - $30.35/hr.

Essential Job Functions



  • Coordinate recruitment activities for assigned hourly and skilled positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate selection support, and onboarding.
  • Post open positions, administer internal bidding processes, communicate staffing updates, and maintain recruitment records.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and process employment, transfer, leave, and termination documentation, including Personnel Action Forms (PAFs).
  • Administer and track employee leaves of absence, assist with the interactive process, and maintain accurate records and compliance documentation.
  • Complete unemployment and disability claim documentation and coordinate required follow-up.
  • Serve as a primary HR contact for employees regarding policies, attendance, payroll, benefits, leaves, and other employment-related inquiries.
  • Generate and maintain HR reports, workforce metrics, and HRIS records to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Support employee relations activities, investigations, affirmative action initiatives, and employee engagement programs.
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy to manage assigned responsibilities while providing regular updates and collaborating closely with HR leadership and team members.
  • Perform other HR administrative duties, projects, and assignments as needed.



Requirements



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of progressively responsible Human Resources, recruiting, payroll, employee relations, or related experience required.
  • Experience supporting recruitment processes, candidate screening, interviewing, onboarding, and workforce administration preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively with limited supervision while maintaining accountability for results.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and relationship-building skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees, supervisors, leadership, and external candidates.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as UKG, Lawson, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, recruiting processes, leave administration, payroll procedures, and employee recordkeeping preferred.
  • Ability to analyze information, prepare reports, and communicate status updates and recommendations effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while taking ownership of assigned functions and projects.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and successfully perform in a fast-paced manufacturing or unionized environment.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
