Assistant/Supervisor of Transportation

SALARY:

$17.50/hr

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* Minnesota Class B Commercial Driver's License

* No more than three (3) moving violations within three (3) years

* Ability to obtain DOT Physical

POSITION SUMMARY:

The School Van Operator is responsible for the safe transportation of Saint Cloud School District 742 students while maintaining professionalism, safety, and positive student interactions during transportation services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

* Demonstrate ability to safely operate a school van owned and operated by District 742

* Demonstrate competency in each of the following areas as required by state law:
- Safely operate the type of school van assigned
- Understand student behavior, including issues relating to students with disabilities
- Encourage orderly student conduct and appropriately handle misconduct incidents
- Understand laws, rules of the road, and local school transportation safety policies
- Safely load and unload students

* Attend meetings with transportation staff, school administrators, and the public when necessary

* Complete student incident reports when applicable

* Maintain fuel and mileage log sheets, pre-trip forms, and other required documentation

* Verify route sheets for accuracy and provide recommendations to appropriate supervisors

* Clean the inside and outside of the van as needed

* Attend all required District safety and informational meetings

* Maintain current First Aid certification provided by the District

* Display the level of professionalism expected by District 742

* Other duties as assigned
