Overview
When you come to Yale New Haven Health System, you'll work alongside leaders in medicine and be part of a team that is advancing diagnostic imaging and patient care. As a CT Technologist, you'll play an important role in providing high-quality imaging that helps physicians diagnose and treat patients across a wide range of clinical needs. You'll have the opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment with experienced radiology professionals, physicians, and clinical teams. Yale New Haven Health is also investing in the future of care, including the new $838 million, 505,000-square-foot Adams Neurosciences Center, opening in 2027. The largest project of its kind in state history, the center is being designed to make it even easier for clinical teams to collaborate throughout the patient's continuum of care-from the prehospital setting, through hospitalization and into early recovery. Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Diagnostic Radiology Manager and/or Assistant Chief Technologist, you will: - Perform a wide variety of CT examinations using complex imaging equipment and appropriate imaging protocols to produce high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists. - Utilize your technical expertise and knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy to perform routine and advanced CT imaging procedures safely, accurately, and efficiently. - Operate CT scanners and related medical equipment using age- and dose-appropriate protocols. - Perform daily tube warm-ups, calibrations, and other quality assurance activities in accordance with departmental procedures. - Provide compassionate, patient-centered care by explaining procedures, addressing questions and concerns, and promoting patient comfort and safety throughout the exam. - Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, nurses, schedulers, clinical staff, and other members of the care team to support efficient departmental workflow. - Communicate pertinent patient and exam information clearly and effectively, including during shift changes, to promote continuity of care and minimize errors. - Assist with exam-related communications, patient preparation, scheduling needs, requisitions, and other workflow activities as needed. - Participate in teaching, learning, and research opportunities that support continued professional development and the advancement of knowledge within the field. - Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while following Yale New Haven Health and departmental policies, procedures, and high-reliability practices. - To meet staffing needs, CT Technologists may be assigned to CT locations throughout Yale New Haven Hospital, regardless of their regularly assigned work location. Qualifications - Graduation from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program. - 1-3 years of CT experience with routine imaging techniques. - Demonstrated technical skills meeting entry-level standards for routine CT imaging. - ARRT RT(R) certification. - CT certification required, or 20 years of CT experience. - Connecticut State License. - Proficiency in advanced CT imaging techniques. - Above-average knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. - Proficiency with computer and PACS applications. - Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. - Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds to assist with patient transfers. Preferred Qualifications: - Associate's or Bachelor's degree. - CPR certification. Position Overview $40,000 Sign-On Bonus Schedule Flexibility Full-time and part-time opportunities available!
