The Enterprise Master Data Steward HR is responsible for establishing, implementing, and continuously improving HR master data governance standards, data quality practices, stewardship processes, and lifecycle controls across the H2R function. The role serves as the primary steward for HR master data governance and acts as a key liaison between P&C, EBS, DT, Compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure trusted, consistent, and well-governed employee and organizational data. This position is accountable for defining and maintaining HR data standards, business rules, ownership models, governance frameworks, data quality metrics, and issue remediation processes that support operational excellence and compliance. In addition to HR data governance responsibilities, the role provides functional administration and operational support for non-SuccessFactors HR-related technologies. Responsibilities include supporting system administration activities, user access coordination, documentation, testing, training, adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role operates within a matrixed organizational structure and maintains a strong partnership with Enterprise Data Governance. The position has a matrix reporting relationship to the Director, Enterprise Data Governance and is responsible for providing regular updates, recommendations, governance metrics, data quality insights, risk assessments, and progress reports related to HR data governance initiatives, standards, stewardship activities, and governance maturity. The role works directly with the Manager, Enabling Tech, Security & EDS and enterprise stakeholders to drive governance maturity, technology optimization, process standardization, and effective stewardship of HR information. The role will have security-related responsibilities related to supporting appropriate access controls in non-SuccessFactors HR applications, audit readiness, data privacy requirements, and governance compliance in partnership with Digital Technology, Compliance, and Internal Controls. A Day in the Life
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of HR master data governance standards, data definitions, business rules, naming conventions, and stewardship practices. - Define and document HR master data ownership, decision rights, stewardship responsibilities, approval workflows, and RACI models for data creation, maintenance, validation, and use. - Establish governance processes to support accurate, consistent, complete, and well-controlled HR data across enterprise systems and downstream processes. - Support the enterprise master data governance roadmap by representing HR domain requirements, priorities, risks, and improvement opportunities. - Partner with Enterprise Data Governance leadership to align HR data governance initiatives, standards, controls, and stewardship practices with enterprise-wide data governance objectives. - Develop, monitor, and report HR master data quality KPIs and metrics to identify trends, risks, root causes, and improvement opportunities. - Balance detailed data stewardship activities with an enterprise view of process impacts, downstream dependencies, and business requirements. - Serve as an HR master data subject matter expert for system changes, transformation programs, integrations, reporting initiatives, and process redesign efforts. - Translate business requirements into sustainable master data standards, governance requirements, and control expectations. - Partner with HR systems and IT teams to support data structure design, testing, data conversion, integration validation, and stabilization activities. - Support process alignment, allowing customization only when required by regulatory, works council, privacy, or country-specific requirements. - Serve as functional administrator and business steward for designated non-SuccessFactors HR and employee-facing technology platforms. - Provide day-to-day administration, configuration support, testing coordination, and user assistance for non-SuccessFactors HR-related technologies, including Qualtrics, ServiceNow, OpenText, NAVEX, and other future HR technology platforms. -Coordinate user provisioning, role governance, access reviews, and system documentation in partnership with application owners and Digital Technology. - Ensure governance standards, data definitions, and master data requirements are consistently applied across supported platforms. - Develop and maintain training materials, standard operating procedures, knowledge articles, and user documentation. - Identify opportunities to automate, simplify, and standardize processes across HR technology solutions. - Support internal and external audits, controls testing, issue management, and policy adherence activities related to HR master data governance. - Provide evidence, process explanations, and remediation support for HR master data controls and governance-related audit requests. - Maintain awareness of applicable data privacy, works council, country-specific, and company policy requirements affecting HR data. - Deep understanding of HR master data concepts, governance frameworks, data quality controls, lifecycle management, organizational structure, and stewardship models. - Ability to map upstream and downstream impacts of HR data across HRIS, payroll, reporting, compliance, employee experience, case management, document management, and business processes. - Experience defining data standards, business rules, ownership models, approval processes, and control requirements in complex global environments. - Ability to influence stakeholders across HR, IT, EBS, Compliance, and business functions without direct reporting authority. - Familiarity with technologies: SuccessFactors, SAP, Qualtrics, ServiceNow, OpenText, NAVEX, or related platforms.
