Adjunct Instructor

The Department of Teaching and Learning within the College of Education at the University of Iowa is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for the following 3-semester hour course taught Fall semester 2026:

• EDTL:2122 - Creativity, Imagination, Play & Human Development through Art
  
  
  
  • This course provides students with opportunities to appreciate and analyze the arts within historical and theoretical contexts. These opportunities provide a foundation for students to develop analytic, expressive, and imaginative abilities necessary for understanding, appreciating, and creating art that can be applied in both classrooms and informal learning environments.
  
  
  
  

Job Functions

Instruction and student support for the 3-semester hour course will include the following responsibilities:

• Development of a course syllabus for the course.
• Leading instruction for the course.
• Providing meeting time for students enrolled in the course.
• Managing the online course system (ICON) for the course.

Education Requirement

Master's degree in an education-related field. Special consideration will be given to art-related fields.

Qualifications

Adjunct Instructor must have completed an accredited Teacher Education Program in the United States and held a teaching license in the United States.

Required Experience

Adjunct Instructor must have successfully completed a minimum of two years of teaching at the Elementary, Middle School, Junior High School or High School level in the United States.
