Responsibilities include:

  • Traffic / ITS technical analysis and design
  • Manage medium to large projects for schedule, budget and resources
  • Identify potential new markets and service lines
  • Attend client meetings
  • Track upcoming pursuits and meet with clients to gather intelligence
  • Prepare letters of interest and technical proposals
  • Attend technical interviews
  • Coordinate proposal efforts and assist in technical input
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and presentations
  • May serve as a project engineer, technical resource, and/or project manager.
  • May serve as engineer in charge to review, approve, and apply professional engineering seals to final plans and specifications.
  • Prepares engineering and design documents, computations and quantity estimates.
  • Prepares, analyzes and/or modifies reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects.
  • Develops probable construction cost estimates for projects.
  • May direct or supervise other project staff's activities.
  • Performs quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual.
  • Visits project sites to monitor progress and handles routine construction administration.
  • May serve as onsite project representative.
  • Other duties as assigned

Successful candidates will have the following:

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering or relevant discipline from an accredited college or university
  • At least six (6) years of relevant experience
  • PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in DC within 6 months of hire

Ideal candidates will have any/all of the following:

  • PMP certification preferred
  • Traffic Engineering Design (signals and marking, MOT, and lighting)
  • Multi-modal transportation planning (transit, micro-mobility, freight, bike, pedestrian, and trails)
  • ITS planning and design (CCTV, DMS, detection, communications)
  • Washington, DC clientele base with DOT, districts, and local municipalities
  • Experience with DDot and County projects

Salary Range: $99,000 - $146,000 annually; actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set, or location.
