The VP, Product - Consumer Experience Platform will lead the strategy, build, and scaled deployment of a next-generation, AI-powered consumer experience platform that becomes the unified entry point into the healthcare system for consumers, payers, and providers.
This leader will own the end-to-end product vision, roadmap, and commercialization of a personalized digital experience.

This role is critical simplifying the consumer experience and healthcare end-to-end.

You'llenjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Vision
Define and drive a multi-year product vision and strategy for the consumer experience platform aligned to the product vision and strategy. Execute this strategy to establish UHG as the market leader in personalized care navigation across payers, providers, and consumers. Own product positioning that differentiates on:

  • Personalization at scale
  • Care optimization
  • Consumer-grade experience

End-to-End Product Ownership
Own the full lifecycle of the Optum Insight consumer experience platform: concept, build, launch, scale, and continuous innovation. Deliver a single, entry point with:

  • Unified identity and access
  • Seamless navigation
  • Context-aware handoffs
  • Act as a connector across business segments to unify fragmented experiences and capabilities

Commercialization & Growth
Own P&L-aligned product performance, including:

  • Revenue growth
  • Adoption and engagement metrics
  • ROI validation at enterprise level
  • Develop monetization strategies (e.g., platform, services, value-based outcomes). Drive market-facing product strategy and client engagement

Consumer Experience & Value Optimization
Deliver a best-in-class consumer experience that is intuitive, and guided, with proactive
navigation. Optimize value by ensuring cost-effective, high quality care. Design to allow for consumer ease and trust while driving better outcomes

Leadership & Influence
Lead through multi-layered product, engineering, and experience teams. Influence senior executives across Optum and UHG. Serve as a thought leader externally on the future of healthcare navigation and consumer experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years in product leadership, including digital platforms, consumer experience, or healthcare technology
  • Proven ability to own and scale a major product platform or business line with significant growth potential, including cross enterprise products
  • Experience leading multi-layered teams or large matrixed organizations
  • Deep expertise in data-driven product design and the healthcare ecosystem
  • Solid track record of driving revenue growth and product commercialization, building business cases and validating ROI at scale
  • Ability to translate complex data, AI, and workflows into simple experiences
  • Exceptional ability to influence C-suite stakeholders, lead across highly matrixed organizations, and drive alignment across competing priorities

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $200,400 to $343,500 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
