Position Summary

Parker-Hannifin in Greenfield, TN is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a high-performance production area in support of the Corporate WIN Strategy. This role is responsible for driving performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement while developing team members, supporting lean manufacturing practices, and ensuring consistent execution of standard work.

The Production Supervisor will provide direct leadership to production team members and interact with employees at all levels of the organization, customers, and external contacts.

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor manages daily operations within the production area while building a culture of safety, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement. This position is responsible for training and developing employees, assigning work, supporting cross-training, coaching and counseling team members, and administering corrective action when needed.

This role has direct reports and is expected to lead by example, remove barriers to performance, and ensure the team is aligned to daily, weekly, and monthly objectives.

Shift / Schedule: This position will support either 2nd or 3rd shift operations.

Responsibilities

  • Promote safety as a core value and ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Create and sustain a psychologically safe team culture where employees are engaged, included, and empowered to contribute.
  • Lead the transition from home to work by setting the tone at the start of each shift, ensuring team members are physically and mentally ready, aligned on priorities, and focused on safety and quality.
  • Understand and develop team members by recognizing individual strengths, challenges, and aspirations, and providing coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities.
  • Verify that standard work is followed through regular process checks and use of Parker lean tools.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement, including support of lean Kaizen events.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain standard work and work instructions for assigned departments.
  • Conduct tiered-level meetings to confirm daily plans, staffing, priorities, and progress toward operational goals.
  • Ensure quality standards are met with a focus on reducing rework and scrap and improving manufacturing capability.
  • Coordinate and support corrective action activities.
  • Maintain timely and accurate time management records for all team members in Kronos or applicable timekeeping systems.
  • Hold team members accountable for adherence to company policies and procedures, providing corrective coaching as needed.
  • Perform capacity analysis and determine staffing requirements for the assigned production area.
  • Support and strengthen a High Performance Team culture that fosters inclusion, accountability, and engagement.

  • Inclusion and Engagement: Foster an environment where team members feel respected, heard, and empowered to contribute.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees in a team environment and across various levels of the organization.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and develop employees through knowledge sharing and effective feedback.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience with lean manufacturing tools and continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience leading or supporting Kaizen events.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, MSS, Kronos, or other timekeeping and workforce management systems.
  • Experience developing standard work, work instructions, and cross-training plans.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remove barriers and improve operational performance.
  • Experience supporting high-performance teams in a manufacturing environment.
