Job Title: Phlebotomist II Location: Richmond, VA 23228 (8040 Villa Park Dr., Suite 200) Duration: 2 Months (Contract to Possible Hire) Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift | 40 Hours/Week Work Arrangement: Onsite Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to join a high-volume Patient Service Center (PSC) in Richmond, VA. This role is responsible for performing venipuncture and capillary blood collections for patients of all ages while delivering outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, processing specimens accurately, and handling administrative responsibilities with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Perform blood collections using venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups. Collect specimens for drug screens, alcohol testing, paternity testing, and other specialized collections. Label, centrifuge, process, package, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing while maintaining specimen integrity. Verify patient identification and ensure accurate specimen labeling. Enter patient information accurately into the laboratory information system. Maintain specimen and patient documentation in accordance with company policies. Process billing information and collect payments when required. Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and laboratory safety guidelines. Maintain work areas and equipment, including cleaning and decontamination procedures. Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive patient experience. Perform administrative and clerical duties as assigned. Travel to nearby patient service centers when business needs require. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience performing venipuncture independently in a hospital, laboratory, or patient service center. Experience collecting specimens using both straight and butterfly needles. Strong specimen processing and labeling experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer/data entry skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours with scheduled breaks). Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test. Reliable transportation for occasional travel to nearby locations. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a high-volume Patient Service Center (PSC). Experience processing approximately 30-40 blood draws per day. Experience with specimen processing, centrifugation, and packaging for transport. Work Environment Patient Service Center (PSC). Approximately 130 patients per day. Team-oriented environment. Standing for most of the workday. Two weeks of onsite training provided. What Will Make a Candidate Successful Strong venipuncture skills with the ability to perform collections independently.
