We are seeking a part-time Psychiatristto support our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team in Stroudsburg, PA.

This is a part-time position of 10 hours per week.

Earn up to $200/hr.

Assertive Community Treatment, or ACT, is a way of delivering a full range of services to people who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness. ACT's goal is to give consumers adequate community care and to help them have a life that isn't dominated by their mental illness. Position Details:

The ACT Psychiatrist is qualified in the mental health profession, and possesses the clinical skills and experience to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and provide psychiatric treatment, and rehabilitation for adults with mental illness. The psychiatrist works in conjunction with all team members and Interagency Team. The ideal candidate will be available on-site primarily, with the ability to provide telehealth services as needed.

Position Details:




  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose behavioral health conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans.



  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications while ensuring compliance with prescribing policies and best practices.



  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, participate in case conferences, and communicate with primary care providers as appropriate.



  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and ensure compliance with EHR, regulatory, and organizational standards.



  • Educate patients and families on medications, treatment options, potential risks, and benefits, and obtain informed consent.



  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and ongoing collaboration with internal and external providers to support high-quality psychiatric care.

ACT Team Psychiatrist Requirements



  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, emergency psychiatry, or urgent care settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based psychiatric treatments and interventions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and empathy in working with patients and their families.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare technology.
