Description The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a part-time Psychologist II to join the UCLA Justice in Criminal Neuropsychology (JCN) Program. In collaboration with the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) and the Department of Mental Health (DMH), JCN has developed the Conservatorship Assessment Training (CAT) Team.
Primary duties include:
  • Conduct clinical interviews with patients
  • Write reports regarding neuropsychological test findings
  • Prepare and complete applications and petitions for clients
  • Provide expert witness testimony in court regarding LPS and Murphy Conservatorship criteria
  • Review clinical history, electronic medical records, state hospital records, and court/legal documents to inform assessments
  • Visit correctional facilities across LA County to assess clients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to gather data and make referrals for appropriate client discharge plans
  • Supervise and train fellows in forensic psychology
Please note: This is a limited position that may convert to career.
Salary range: $63.75/hr - $84.08/hr
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

* Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program.

* Current, active license to practice Psychology in the State of California (or license eligible at time of hire).

* Demonstrated experience conducting neuropsychological or psychological assessments with adult populations.

* Ability to produce clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation and reports. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary settings.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation systems.

* Ability to comply with University, Health System, and regulatory policies and procedures.

* Professional flexibility to meet clinical, training, and operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Completion of two years of formal postdoctoral training in Clinical Neuropsychology or equivalent specialized training.

* Completion of postdoctoral training in Forensic Psychology.

* Experience conducting forensic, competency, or conservatorship-related evaluations.

* Experience supervising and training doctoral-level trainees in clinical neuropsychological assessment.

* Two or more years of clinical and/or scientific expertise working with complex psychiatric, neurologic, or justice-involved populations.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing integrated clinical or medico-legal reports.

* Demonstrated ability to establish rapport with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

* Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex cases.
