POSITION SUMMARY The Youth Career Pathways Coordinator (Coordinator) is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing youth-centered initiatives focused on lifting young voices including Latine and underserved youth, build leadership skills, facilitate peer and professional networks and foster economic mobility.

The Coordinator is responsible for identifying and coordinating programs and initiatives that will provide youth opportunities to engage in comprehensive career readiness and financial capability skills development. They support and partner in the creation, development, implementation, and facilitation of youth programming across the organization. This position will also coordinate and implement wealth-building programs that focus on promoting Latine and underserved youth entrepreneurship and micro-business development opportunities, in collaboration with other youth-focused staff and programs. The Coordinator will build networks for youth to connect to resources, opportunities, and to build power, community, and assets.

As a partner of the Best Buy Teen Tech Center (Center) at CLUES, the Coordinator will coordinate logistics for workshops, internship programs, and technology initiatives through the Center. A core responsibility of the Coordinator is to oversee and facilitate programs through the Center such as the Best Buy Career Pathways program. The Coordinator is responsible for supporting research and partnership development to assist in securing funds for expansion opportunities and programming.

Schedule: Full-Time. Generally, Monday - Friday 11am-7pm. Weekend hours may be required.
Estimated Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour (depending on experience & qualifications).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Program Coordination & Facilitation
  • Coordinate logistics and delivery of training workshops and information sessions on relevant topics (college access/retention, STEAM careers, micro-business, career opportunities, advocacy, etc.)
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and facilitation of a variety of youth-centered empowerment programs. Including Best Buy Career Pathways, Youth@Work, Youth Internship Programs, Center Workshops, Skills and Career Training, etc.
    • Develop and oversee internships to support career exploration for Latine and underserved youth.
    • Develop and oversee youth entrepreneurship cohorts to build skills in financial management, product development, design, and leadership.
  • Through the Best Buy Career Pathways program, and in partnership with department staff, coordinate logistics to provide meaningful and paid internship opportunities for program participants.
  • Create events/workshops to engage broader Latine and underserved youth.

Youth Mentorship & Support
  • Mentor and prepare youth for potential job opportunities, career exploration, and post-secondary pursuits. Motivate youth for personal and professional growth by helping them reflect on their experiences.
  • Provide youth real-world experiences for navigating professional work culture and ethics through soft skills.
  • Stay in communication with participants and their families, provide updates and check in with them to ensure a satisfying experience with the Youth Empowerment programs.
  • Plan, coordinate, execute, and promote various initiatives to uplift youth voices and stories.
  • Oversee and chaperone out-of-state internship and work experience opportunities and programming (as needed and appropriate).

Program Development, Recruitment, & Evaluation
  • In collaboration with supervisor and Development team, research and identify new funding opportunities for youth programs.
  • Collaborate with Communications & Marketing Team to publish blog posts and marketing content highlighting community impact and uplifting youth stories.
  • Oversee outreach and recruitment efforts for youth programming, internship opportunities, training workshops and sessions.
  • Advocate for programming with third-party partners including educational institutions, community organizations, local business and corporations, and at community events.
  • Create and use evaluation tools to incorporate continuous program improvement strategies into all planning and implementation efforts.
  • Monitor and track progress of program data and outcomes to meet agency and funder requirements.
  • Prepare and submit written and oral reports on program progress and effectiveness as requested.

General Duties
  • Attend annual out of state conferences and trainings with partner organizations. Participation is required due to responsibilities under the Best Buy Career Pathways programming.
  • Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, agency policies and other applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards.
  • Demonstrate appropriate workplace behaviors and conduct, setting an example for program participants.
  • Identify and enforce the emotional/mental health support boundaries to reduce secondhand trauma and refer to internal resources as appropriate.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisor, department, and organizational leadership and solicit feedback when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other CLUES programs and departments to integrate programs and resources.
  • Understand and promote CLUES' mission, vision, operating values, goals, and agency services.
  • Participate in assigned training and department activities as required.
  • Engage and carry out other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS
  • This position will supervise program volunteers and youth interns.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Education, Experience & Key Abilities
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 2+ years of experience with youth programming or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience in higher education academic success, leadership, career development and/or youth development programs preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and delivering youth related group lessons, workshops, and activities required.
  • Experience and familiarity with community resources available to Latine, underserved youth, and their families.
  • Fully bilingual in Spanish and English required.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of Latine culture/values. Experience with the Latino community's experience, culture, and traditions and ability to navigate mainstream systems and experiences to make relevant cross-cultural connections.
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse individuals in a service-oriented environment highly preferred.
  • Strong community outreach and collaboration skills.
  • Must be organized and have ability to work under pressure, have attention to detail, and multi- task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience designing and developing program content preferred.

Language Skills
  • Effective communication in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written materials, maintain accurate documentation, and respond appropriately to questions and requests.

Transportation
  • Must have access to use a reliable motor vehicle for independent transportation, valid driver's license, proof of automotive insurance, and maintain a good driving record. Must submit to and pass annual recertification of compliance with CLUES Automobile and Transportation Policy and driving record check.

Computer Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other software (e.g., database, reporting, client management systems, graphic design, coding/development, etc.).
  • Must be willing to attend training to advance technical skills and maintain appropriate skill levels to perform job duties.
WORKING CONDITIONS Background check
  • Must pass a criminal background check and driving record check. As a condition of continued employment, staff person may be required to submit to periodic re-verification of these, and additional background checks.
