Position Summary

The Rooms Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Rooms Division, ensuring exceptional guest service while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and operational efficiency. This position provides leadership and direction to Front Office, Housekeeping, and Guest Services associates during assigned shifts, ensuring compliance with hotel standards, brand expectations, and company policies.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced luxury environment, and leads by example through service excellence and accountability.


Essential Job Functions

  • Supervise the daily operation of the Front Office, Housekeeping, and Guest Services during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure a warm, personalized arrival and departure experience for every guest.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and promptly resolve guest concerns using effective service recovery techniques.
  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure brand and cleanliness standards are consistently met.
  • Support room readiness by partnering closely with Housekeeping and Engineering to prioritize room availability.
  • Assist with VIP arrivals, special requests, group arrivals, and other operational priorities.
  • Monitor staffing levels and adjust assignments to meet business demands while maintaining service standards.
  • Coach, motivate, and develop associates through ongoing feedback, recognition, and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety procedures, and security standards.
  • Assist with scheduling, payroll review, timecard approvals, and attendance management as assigned.
  • Train new associates and reinforce brand service standards and operational procedures.
  • Communicate effectively during shift changes and participate in daily operations meetings.
  • Maintain accurate operational reports, logs, and departmental documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and execution of guest requests.
  • Promote teamwork and a positive work environment while fostering associate engagement.
  • Perform Manager-on-Duty responsibilities when assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of hotel supervisory experience in Front Office, Housekeeping, or Rooms Operations.
  • Luxury or full-service hotel experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent guest service and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, climbing stairs, and moving throughout the hotel.
  • Ability to respond quickly to operational and guest service needs.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Marriott experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with Opera Cloud, FOSSE, or similar PMS.
  • Experience supervising union and non-union associates preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

This position reports to the Rooms Manager and works closely with the Front Office Manager, Housekeeping Manager, Engineering, and other hotel leadership to deliver an exceptional luxury guest experience.

For applicants who will be working in NYC, the anticipated compensation range for the position is $1.00-$28.00 hourly; for applicants who will be working in New York, the anticipated compensation range for the position is 1.00-$28.00 hourly. The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, work location, etc. Crescent Hotels is a multi-state employer, and the salary ranges indicated herein may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
