VNS Health is seeking a Director, HRIS (Workday) to lead the HR Digital Experience Strategy, with a primary focus on Workday. This role is responsible for shaping how Workday supports HR and enhances the overall employee and manager experience.While IT owns the enterprise-wide Workday platform-including Finance, Payroll, and Procurement-this role will specifically lead the HR Workday strategy and roadmap, ensuring HR priorities are clearly defined, aligned, and executed.This is a hands-on leadership role that blends strategy, execution, and team development.

What You Will Do:
- Define and lead the HR-specific Workday strategy and roadmap, aligned to HR and organizational priorities.
- Serve as a hands-on Workday leader, actively involved in configuration, optimization, and solution design.
- Drive improvements in the HR digital experience for employees and managers, ensuring Workday is intuitive and effective.
- Partner closely with IT (who owns the broader enterprise Workday strategy, to align priorities and ensure successful delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small HRIS team (2).
- Partner closely with HR leadership team and HR Centers of Excellence to identify how Workday can best support HR work and people strategy.
- Manage intake, prioritization, and execution of HR-focused Workday initiatives and enhancements.
- Continuously evaluate and evolve how Workday supports HR processes, including exploring emerging technologies such as AI.
- Balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational demands.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree required
Work Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive HRIS/HR technology experience required
- Workday experience (Core HCM required) required
- Deep, hands-on experience with Workday (Core HCM required)
- Proven experience leading HRIS or Workday-focused teams, ideally in a player-coach capacity
- Strong understanding of HR processes and how they translate into Workday solutions
- Experience working in a shared ownership model with IT
- Ability to think strategically while remaining close to execution
- Strong prioritization and stakeholder management skills
- Curiosity and interest in modernizing HR technology, including AI
Pay Range
USD $154,400.00 - USD $205,800.00 /Yr.
