DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position helps maintain clean, safe, and orderly areas throughout the hospital campus. Your work supports patient care by providing custodial services, responding to cleaning needs, and assisting with linen delivery. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Daily Cleaning: Clean living units, offices, hallways, and other areas across the hospital campus
- Linen Duties: Deliver, sort, and prepare linens and clothing for use throughout the facility
- Equipment Use: Operate custodial equipment safely and report needed repairs
- Emergency Response: Handle urgent cleaning needs such as spills, flooding, or isolation procedures
- Outdoor Tasks: Assist with snow shoveling, walkway cleaning, and maintaining building entrances
- Basic Maintenance: Replace light bulbs and assist with moving furniture and larger items when needed

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Schedule may change based on operational needs.
- Rotating weekends and holidays as assigned
- Overtime and travel may be required
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
