Overview

Lead Engineer s responsible for overall maintenace, safety and operation of the property while serving as the department head.



Responsibilities

    Perform and oversee preventive maintenance programs.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate room out-of-order repairs and return rooms to inventory quickly.
  • Ensure fire alarm systems, sprinklers, emergency lighting, and safety equipment are functioning properly.
  • Maintain compliance with brand standards, local codes, and OSHA requirements.
  • Conduct safety inspections and document corrective actions.
  • Maintain the parking lot, landscaping, exterior lighting, and building appearance.
  • Address cosmetic issues that impact guest satisfaction
  • Coordinate contractors for specialized repairs.
  • Obtain quotes and manage maintenance-related expenses.
  • Monitor vendor performance and completion of projects.
  • Train and supervise maintenance staff (if applicable).
  • Prioritize work orders and daily assignments.
  • Partner with Housekeeping and Front Desk to minimize guest impact.
  • Manage maintenance budgets and purchasing.
  • Track capital improvement needs.
  • Recommend equipment replacements and property upgrades
  • Address guest room issues.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to emergencies and after-hours calls when necessary.
  • Update maintenance logs and compliance records.


Qualifications

  • HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance knowledge.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Time management and prioritization.
  • Strong communication and guest service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to emergencies
