DESCRIPTION

Under direction of the supervision of a registered nurse in the assigned department reporting to the Practice Manager, performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient procedures, administering medications, point of care testing, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, and patient education. The successful candidate will have experience working in fast pace ambulatory procedural setting. Position requires initiative, ability to prioritize critical demands, attention to detail and the ability to work in a team environment, maintains positive relationships with patients, family members, other visitors, and fellow employees. Job standards are to be performed at the expert level. Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) issued by the state of California.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of LVN experience.
  • Requires knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with allergy, immunology and angioedema patient populations.
  • Certification in Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal issued by the state of California (LVN IV/BW) within 3 months of hire.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, exhibiting a professional demeanor to function effectively in diverse clinical/healthcare and community settings as well as possess the ability to communicate clearly and effectively (both through written and oratory methods) to diverse audiences.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $74,980 - $93,229 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $35.91 - $44.65

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
