Level II: Key Responsibilities:
Works assigned tasks to meet schedule and may coordinate details with other departments. Creates and develops solid models and layouts based on design specifications, system requirements, and engineering analysis with guidance as needed. Develops detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts and models. Recognizes problems that are beyond current capabilities and learns from experts in the area. May implement process improvements on a project level. Performs work using conventional engineering practices. Supports prototype builds and laboratory testing of mechanical, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical systems with some supervision. Writes and performs component tests with some supervision.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, including internal presentations and basic technical writing such as procedures and reports. Competent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to operate effectively in a project team environment and communicate with customers. May direct or lead the work of technicians, detailers, and designers. Performs work involving conventional engineering practices and a variety of complex features, such as conflicting design requirements, non-standard materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Provides direct support of sales and development by sharing information in the form of proposals and leading design reviews. Supports prototype builds and laboratory testing of mechanical, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical systems. Independently writes and performs component tests.
