Overview

The Federal Proposal Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing SLS Federal Services division proposals throughout the life cycle and will support SLS' strategic growth goals, initiatives, and service offerings. This position will be highly visible and will work closely with SLS executive leadership, Division leads, capture professionals, and operations management and personnel. The Proposal Manager will report directly to the Division President. This position requires work performed in a dynamic, diverse, and fast-paced team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Tracking of proposal efforts from identification through award.
  • Develops proposal overviews to assist with go/no go decision making.
  • Develops and distributes proposal outlines and compliance matrices.
  • Develops, distributes, and consolidates proposal related data calls.
  • Coordinates color reviews of proposals and consolidates input.
  • Performs desktop publishing and editing of proposals.
  • Attends weekly proposal status meetings and adjusts work plans accordingly.
  • Manages division-specific pipelines.
  • Orders necessary proposals materials and documents such as bid bonds, reference letters, and hard copy proposal materials.
  • Performs proposal production for hard copy proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited University in a relatable field of education and skill sets.
  • Experience leading federal proposal development with agencies such as USACE, NAVFAC, FEMA, or DHS.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong research skills.
  • 5+ years working in a fast-paced proposal environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with FAR and other DoD/Federal agency requirements.
  • Experience working with and managing Microsoft SharePoint sites.
  • Experience with editing Adobe PDF documents.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience in desktop publishing and/or copy editing.
  • APMP Foundations certification.
