POSITION SUMMARY The Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk is responsible for accurately processing vendor invoices, issuing payments, and maintaining proper financial records related to accounts payable. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely payments and supporting the financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This role is based out of our Roanoke, VA office. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Review, verify, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system * Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation to ensure accuracy * Route invoices for appropriate approval in accordance with company policy * Prepare and process check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers * Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies or payment issues * Maintain accurate and organized AP files and records * Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner * Assist with month-end close by preparing AP accruals and reports * Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation * Other duties as assigned EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES * High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred * Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting * Familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar ERP platforms) * Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. * Strong organizational and time-management skills. * Effective communication and customer service skills. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. * Problem-solving skills and ability to handle account discrepancies with professionalism The Wurth Difference:
