Software Engineer - Technical Expert

Location: Raymond, OH | Pay: $68.75-$69.35/hr.

We are seeking a highly experienced UX Software Engineer Technical Expert / Unit Lead to drive architecture, design, and development of advanced software systems focused on user experience (UX), cloud connectivity, and enterprise-scale applications. This is a senior-level contract role responsible for leading technical direction, ensuring system integration quality, and mentoring engineering teams.

This position plays a key role in defining software architecture, evaluating technical feasibility, and delivering secure, scalable, and user-centric solutions in a Linux-based SOC environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software architecture, design, development, and testing of UX-focused applications
• Define module boundaries and ensure seamless system integration across complex applications
• Develop cloud-based and internet-connected software solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and interface-level issues
• Ensure secure software design and compliance with cybersecurity best practices
• Design and deliver technical proposals and architecture plans for executive review
• Lead project planning, scheduling, and technical execution for large-scale initiatives
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Support GUI development with a focus on usability and performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 10+ years of software development experience
• Strong background in software architecture and full-stack development
• Proficiency in Java, Python, and C++
• Experience with front-end and back-end development and system integration
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience working in Linux-based or SOC environments (non-RTOS/ECU focused)
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with GUI frameworks and modern UI development tools
• Background in system integration, debugging, and modular architecture design
• Strong presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder communication skills
