Responsibilities & Expectations:
Shipping: Supports the shipment of inventory sold to our customer base. Responsible for creating Bill of Lading (BOL) Document for shipments as they are ready for shipping, for making arrangements for pick up by the customer's preferred carrier (if requested), and for shipping packages by the best carrier to ensure they are received on time. Assist with specialized loads of material that must be shipped by specific trucks, courier, etc.
Material Handling: Material handling and moving product- requires light to heavy lifting. Utilize powerlifting equipment: pallet jack, forklift, stand-up, etc. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, have sufficient knowledge of all equipment used by the department and any safety requirements during its operation.
Office Administration/Operations: Invoice orders as they ship and assist with outstanding orders and the issues that hinder those orders from being invoiced. Help to resolve shipping issues for customers. Report and follow up on lost and damaged shipments. Obtain freight quotes. Order and maintain supplies of tools and safety supplies.
Receiving: Responsible for receiving customer repairs by verifying part numbers, item condition, submitting required receiving documentation, and cleaning items when needed so they are ready for repair. Maintaining cleanliness of the Receiving area by properly disposing of packaging and according to 6S program requirements.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Education-
* High school diploma or equivalent
Specialized knowledge-
* Knowledge of material handling and inventory logistics procedures
* UPS Worldship and FedEx Express knowledge helpful but not required
* Ability to drive a forklift, and other mechanical lifts, in compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements
Skills/Abilities-
* Good communication skills to facilitate valuable teamwork
* Knowledge and understanding to work with computer inventory programs and software
* Should possess good mathematical and analytical skill sets
* Ability and effectiveness to manage time to meet set targets and deadlines
* Able to lift up to seventy (70) pounds
Personal Characteristics-
* Dependable, responsible and self-motivated
* Must be punctual, trustworthy, and organized
* Engaged and excited to learn
Professional certification-
* TSC Electrical Training Classes completed within one (1) year of hire date
Experience required-
* Two to three (2-3) years of material handling and inventory logistics procedures experience
