North Wind Response and Reclamation, LLC was established to pursue reclamation and restoration services specific to well abandonment, Abandoned Mine Lands (AML), and disaster relief and emergency response.

North Wind Response & Reclamation has developed a distinguished team of subject matter experts and knowledgeable and industry-specific operational staff to manage and execute these historic and urgent reclamation projects. Our capabilities include site assessments, inventories, Geographical Information System (GIS) services and applications, storage tank assessment, removal, and installation, field sampling and testing, debris removal, drilling and hydrogeological services, waste management, site restoration and closure, well abandonment and methane monitoring, slope stabilization, project management and meeting administrative reporting and documentation requirements.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Laborer/Operator supports daily field operations by performing general labor duties, assisting with site preparation and construction activities, and safely operating small equipment as needed. This role is responsible for maintaining productivity and safety across varying job sites and weather conditions while supporting heavy equipment operations, material movement, and project execution. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Perform general labor duties in a variety of outdoor environments and weather conditions to support daily construction and site operations.
  • Follow directions from the Site Superintendent regarding daily assignments, work priorities, and changing job site responsibilities.
  • Assist with site preparation activities, including moving materials, supporting heavy equipment operations, and maintaining safe and organized work areas.
  • Accurately complete and maintain electronic timecards, daily logs, and basic Excel spreadsheet documentation.
  • Operate small equipment and tools, including chippers, skid steers, and similar machinery, in a safe and efficient manner as needed.
  • Adapt to changing project scopes, locations, and operational needs while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and staging equipment, tools, and materials at various job sites.
  • Conduct routine inspection, cleaning, and basic maintenance of tools, vehicles, trailers, and small equipment.
  • Support traffic control, site cleanup, and erosion control measures as directed.
  • Safely tow and maneuver trailers of varying sizes and hitch types in tight or confined job site locations.
  • Communicate effectively with crew members, subcontractors, and supervisors to support project coordination and safe operations.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or job site concerns to supervision in a timely manner.
  • Assist with mobilization and demobilization activities for projects and equipment.
  • Travel to various project locations as required to support operational needs.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:


  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in working outdoors assisting with heavy equipment at setting small structures, moving dirt, moving gravel and setting construction matting, etc.
  • Ability to pull and back trailers of all sizes and hitch types onto tight locations and around tight corners.
  • A self-starter who can see what needs to be done and get it done unsupervised.
  • Easy to work with, excellent work ethic.
  • Can lift and move a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Has a valid driver's license
  • OSHA 10 Certification a plus

Skills and Abilities:


  • Ability to work safely and effectively in physically demanding outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
  • Basic knowledge of construction site operations, hand tools, and small equipment operation.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt quickly to changing project needs and work locations.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills with supervisors, coworkers, and subcontractors.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, including timekeeping systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to safely tow, back, and maneuver trailers in tight or confined spaces.
  • Strong work ethic with demonstrated reliability, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.

Special Requirements:


  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
  • Ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or extended hours based on project demands.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment and/or random drug and alcohol screenings, if applicable.
  • OSHA 10 Certification preferred or ability to obtain certification within a designated timeframe.
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles, trailers, and small equipment.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on job sites.
  • Ability to work in remote locations and uneven terrain as required by project conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and uneven terrain.
  • Must have sufficient manual dexterity to safely operate hand tools, power tools, small equipment, and electronic devices.
  • Ability to safely enter and exit equipment, trailers, and construction areas multiple times per day.
  • Required to maintain physical stamina necessary to perform labor-intensive tasks for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively in active construction and outdoor work environments.
  • May be exposed to dust, mud, noise, vibration, and other typical construction site conditions.
  • Ability to wear and work requires personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:


  • Primarily works outdoors on active construction sites and project locations in varying weather and environmental conditions.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, construction vehicles, trailers, and powered tools.
  • Frequently exposed to dirt, dust, mud, uneven terrain, vibration, and loud noise levels common to construction and field operations.
  • Work may be performed near operating machinery, excavation areas, traffic zones, and other potentially hazardous conditions requiring strict adherence to safety procedures.
  • May occasionally work indoors in shop, warehouse, or office environments for equipment staging, reporting, or administrative tasks.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on job sites or operating equipment.
  • Position may require travel between multiple job sites and work in remote or undeveloped locations.
