Position Summary:

This Volunteer Program Manager will be responsible for performing routine program administration, coordinating projects/initiatives and assists in implementation of community development projects or programs and recognition efforts to support the organization's objectives. As the Volunteer Program Manager, it is important to maintain positive relationships with volunteers and other stakeholders, ensuring efficient coordination of volunteer efforts, and tracking program performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees and optimizes TDECU's volunteer platform, including posting volunteer opportunities, managing volunteer databases, and generating insightful reports to track participation and impact.

Establishes and maintains strong relationships with nonprofit organizations to understand and anticipate their volunteer needs, ensuring that TDECU's volunteer efforts are impactful and aligned with community priorities.

Leads the recruitment, onboarding, and coordination of volunteers for various projects, managing these initiatives from conception through to successful completion, ensuring goals are met and resources are efficiently utilized.

Identifies, secures, and allocates essential resources-including tools, materials, and personnel-for each volunteer project to ensure seamless execution and maximum impact.

Conducts thorough evaluations of volunteer projects, utilizing post-project surveys and other feedback mechanisms to assess outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and celebrate successes.

Accurately tracks and quantifies employee volunteer hours, engagement levels, and the frequency of volunteer occurrences, providing detailed reports that demonstrate the value and impact of volunteer activities.

Designs and implements a comprehensive recognition program that acknowledges the contributions of individual volunteers and teams, enhancing motivation and reinforcing a culture of giving back.

Creates and disseminates compelling internal and external communications that highlight the stories, achievements, and impacts of TDECU's volunteer efforts, enhancing the company's reputation as a committed corporate citizen.

Develops and implements strategies to educate and inspire TDECU employees about available volunteer opportunities, fostering a culture of service and community involvement across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Management or related field.
  • At least eight years of Community Relations experiencepreferred.

Experience:

  • Three to five years of experience in community relations strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit or community-focused organization preferred.
  • Familiarity with volunteer recruitment strategies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations and employees.
  • Expertise in recruiting and organizing volunteers to match project needs.
  • Strong leadership, organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while managing multiple projects and volunteers simultaneously.
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships with external partners, colleagues, and employees.
  • Purpose driven, self-starter with initiative strong organizational skills.
  • Applies knowledge of the community to assess volunteer engagement opportunities.

  • Our company offers a dynamic hybrid work arrangement, which requires three days on-site work. Our retail roles are required to be onsite at the branch locations.
