The Principal Corporate Communications Consultant is responsible for strengthening awareness, understanding, and engagement with Medica's executive leadership. This role leads executive communications and visibility efforts supporting the company's mission, strategy, and priorities.

Reporting to the VP, Corporate Communications, and partnering closely with the Executive Leadership Team, this role develops clear, compelling content and communication strategies helping leaders show up consistently and inspire action across the organization and beyond. The Principal Corporate Communications Consultant serves as a Team Lead for executive communications and provides leadership for one communications professional, and works closely across Corporate Communications, Public Relations, and key corporate partners.

The Principal Corporate Communications Consultant creates and shapes executive communications - including speeches, presentations, and written materials - and supports priority initiatives that require strong leadership messaging. Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Accountabilities:



    Executive Visibility



    • Lead a proactive internal and external visibility strategy, in collaboration with Public Relations, for the Executive Leadership Team
    • Identify and support speaking opportunities that advance Medica's mission and strategic priorities
    • Partner with Corporate Communications colleagues to amplify executive messages through the right channels and forums


    Content Development



    • Develop highimpact content such as companywide updates, major announcements, speeches, talking points, statements, and meeting materials
    • Ensure all content aligns with Medica's mission, purpose, strategy, and key messages
    • Translate complex topics into clear, engaging communications for diverse audiences


    Strategic Communications



    • Collaborate with the VP of Corporate Communications and communication leaders across the company to ensure a cohesive, consistent approach to executive communications and thought leadership
    • Support strategic initiatives that require integrated communication planning and execution
    • Directly manage and develop one communications professional, providing ongoing coaching, performance feedback, prioritization, and quality review
    • Serve as a Team Lead for executive communications, setting standards, workflows, and best practices for executive-facing content
    • Allocate work across resources, balance capacity, and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of executive communications
    • Partner with the VP of Corporate Communications to align team priorities and ensure executive communications support enterprise strategy and outcomes



    Principal Corporate Communications Consultant Required Qualifications:



    • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or a related field
    • 10+ years of experience in communications, including executive communications or senior leader support


    Skills and Abilities:



    • Strong writer and storyteller with the ability to adapt voice and tone for different leaders and audiences
    • Proven ability to work comfortably with senior leaders and influence at all levels of the organization
    • Strategic thinker who can also execute - balancing longterm planning with daytoday delivery
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastmoving environment
    • Experience leading individuals or teams (formal or informal)
    • Experience setting communication objectives and measures of success
    • Ability to use data and insights to inform communication strategies and decisions
    • Demonstrated flexibility and comfort navigating change and shifting priorities

      This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite at our Minnetonka, MN office, on average, 3 days per week.

      The full salary grade for this position is $100,300 - $172,000. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $100,300 - $150,465. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
