The Scientist I will take a pioneering role in guiding projects for method development, strategic investment and resource deployment, instrument installation, and crafting experimental frameworks. They will be instrumental in developing and implementing analytical capabilities, as well as creating procedures utilized by all team members to ensure shared success. This individual is also invited to partner with other Balazs R&D personnel, as well as with customers in manufacturing to provide analytical problem-solving and support for both fab and lab environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new methods for additional lab chemical and material analysis capabilities

  • Partners with customers to resolve complex challenges, such as factory contamination issues

  • Ensures optimum lab instrument performance and provides valuable insights into the preventive maintenance program

  • Guides laboratory projects, such as MDL studies and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Actively listens to and anticipates the needs of the customer for new analysis procedures

  • Presents results and findings at customer sites

  • Actively identifies opportunities to advance our capabilities and reach in their areas of expertise

  • Engages with clients to determine requirements and desired outputs, managing projects from beginning to end with high agency and trust

  • Efficiently adopts and champions new techniques (e.g., becoming fully proficient in preparation, analysis, data processing, and reporting)

  • Collaborates with the production lab as necessary to ensure collective success

  • Participates in Client Task Forces as a technical representative

  • Ability to perform analysis and research with high agency and trust

  • Perform routine and non-routine sample analysis and data interpretation

  • Performs primary and secondary review of data to ensure the highest quality

  • Possesses a deep understanding of process flow within an analytical laboratory

  • Prepares analysis reports and maintains open communication with customers

  • Empowers lab staff through training on new and existing methods

  • Works closely with the manager and lab members to ensure a smooth workflow and overall customer satisfaction

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Chemistry or Similar Science and 10 years experience ORMS in Chemistry or Similar Science and 5 years experience OR Ph. D. in Chemistry or Similar Science and 0-2 years experience

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to work with others as a team.

  • Highly organized, disciplined, and goal oriented.

  • Must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Possesses a good work ethic and knows how to get things done.

  • Possesses good personal time management skills.

  • Work safely at all times and ensure a safety culture and a safe working environment in the laboratory.

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience with ICP-MS, GC-MS or HPIC

  • Experience in the semiconductor industry
